Stupid Publisher Tricks, Company Puts Warning Label On US Constitution.

When my friend sent me the email, I had to check my calendar, I thought it was a big April Fools day trick. But I went over to Amazon.com and discovered it was no joke, just a sad statement on our country today.

Wilder publications publishes a handy soft-covered book with many of America's founding documents including the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, etc.

On the Title page is says:
© Wilder Publications 2008
This book is a product of its time and does not reflect the same values as it would if it were written today. Parents might wish to discuss with their children how views on race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, and interpersonal relations have changed since this book was written before allowing them to read this classic work.

HOLY COW!! Wilder Publications is in the business of “publishing print-on-demand books (mostly self-help and public domain reprints).” They put that discalimer on all of their "old" books, including the Federalist Papers, so it is probably not a political message. But I can guarantee you that there will be people reading the book that will see it as a political message (and Progressives that will use it to prove their point).

One would think that, since they don't have to pay for the content, Wilder Publications could change the content warning on some of the books, to text that would be more applicable.

For example the one on the Constitution book could say:
This book is a product of its time and it is incredible how relevant it sill is today Parents might wish to discuss with their children how ignorance of the documents in this book could result in a loss of personal freedom, and the United States looking a lot like Greece. Though written over two centuries ago, following the outline laid out in the Constitution will result in a government as perfect as humans can create.

Changes should be discussed with children or for anyone to that extent...

Many lefties argue that the words 'Welfare' in the preamble justifies Nanny-statism. The word 'Welfare has gotten a very different meaning in the last 150 years...

Occasionally, I teach American Government to groups of homeschoolers.

And guess what?

We read aloud and study the U.S. Constitution. More importantly, we venerate it as the miraculous document it is.

Meanwhile, in the public schools and even in some private schools, our Constitution is deprecated. Disgusting and dangerous for the future of America.

Are you SURE it's not a joke?
