A grant was given to this university to perform this study. I had professors intimate in grad school that if you want government money (even in Canada) attach the term "as pertains to global warming" to your proposal and you'll get your cash. Then all you have to do is pump out some absurd drivel like we read above and you satisfy the requirements of the grant.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14337861108761350581noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21392130.post-31460999603937540852014-12-18T17:55:46.515-05:002014-12-18T17:55:46.515-05:00Actually on second thoughts it will never fly, ant...Actually on second thoughts it will never fly, anthropomorphic global warming sounds so suitably scientific - Squirrel/Beaver induced global warming? They also determined the area covered by beaver ponds.<br />Whitfield's team found that global beaver numbers have grown dramatically, to a population of over 10 million. The Eurasian population could grow by an additional four million. In the process of population recovery, beavers have dammed up in excess of 42,000 square kilometres of aquatic pond areas, which are bordered with over 200,000 kilometres of shoreline habitat. <br />Parallel to the increase in beaver populations is also a notable increase in methane emissions because of their pond-building efforts. At the end of the 20th century, beaver activities contributed up to 0.80 teragrams (or 800 million kilograms) of methane to the atmosphere each year."<br />To quantify methane release, his team made up a number for the population of beavers. They guessed how much area would be needed and then calculated the amount of pond areas. Then from these fabricated numbers his team calculated a very specific finite amount of 800 million kilograms of methane.<br />Good grief!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14337861108761350581noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21392130.post-51435770923100666512014-12-17T15:21:07.593-05:002014-12-17T15:21:07.593-05:00but hold one here....
