Big Brother Obama is Listening to Your Phone Calls "Can You Hear Me Now?"

"Barack Obama opposed the Bush Administration's initial policy on warrantless wiretaps because it crossed the line between protecting our national security and eroding the civil liberties of American citizens. As president, Obama would update the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to provide greater oversight and accountability to the congressional intelligence committees to prevent future threats to the rule of law." 2008 Obama For President

Be careful of what you are saying on phone calls because the government may be listening. The National Security Agency  (NSA) has been collecting millions of Verizon customer's telephone records every day according to a report in the British Guardian.

The order was granted by the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court on April 25 and is good until July 19, the newspaper reported yesterday. The order requires Verizon, one of the nation's largest telecommunications companies, on an "ongoing, daily basis" to give the NSA information on all telephone calls in its system, both within the U.S. and between the U.S. and other countries.

The document which is embedded on the Guardian website, shows for the first time that under the Obama administration the communication records of millions of U.S. citizens were being collected indiscriminately and in bulk, regardless of whether they were suspected of any wrongdoing.

Under the terms of the order, which was supposed to remain secret until April 2038, the phone numbers of both parties on a call are handed over, as are location data, call duration, unique identifiers, and the time and duration of all calls. The contents of the conversation itself are not covered, The Guardian said.

While subpenas for phone records by the NSA are not unusual since 9/11 they are almost always directed toward collecting the information of a single or a few individuals, suspects, or terrorist group. What makes this particular order unprecedented the wide nature of the information being turned over....basically everything on everyone.

The FISA court order directed Verizon to provide the NSA with electronic copies of "all call detail records or telephony metadata created by Verizon for communications between the United States and abroad" or "wholly within the United States, including local telephone calls."  In other words it allows the US government to spy on everyone.

This news should send a chill down the spine of every American and is a violation of the 4th amendment to the US Constitution:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Obamacare with it provisions on Birth Control and the DOJs intimidation of the Press is already trashing the 1st Amendment to the Constitution, the  White House is trying to weaken the 2nd Amendment with its gun control efforts and now we learn what this presidency is trying to do to the 4th Amendment with this broad Verizon subpena. What's next the 3rd Amendment? Is this President going to force us to quarter troops in our homes?

Folks this administration is violating your freedoms its about time you tell your Representatives that these violation will not stand! Or as they describe it at Verizon "Can you hear me now?"
