"Cease-Fire" or Are We On Candid Camera?

I took last night off, instead of scrapping through the internet looking for news items, I sat back and listened to a couple of blog superstars Pam from Atlas Shrugs, Jerry from Israpundit and others talking about the crucial issues that face our country (click here to listen to the podcast of the show or learn about the next one). I went to bed jazzed, all of our hard work writing, marketing our sites to get the word out it IS making a difference.

One of the topic discussed was "Olmert's Folly" this cease-fire in Gaza. The only way to describe this one sided "Cease-Fire" which Olmert has shoved down Israel's throat is surreal. Each day it becomes more obvious that the Palestinians have no intention of making peace, but Olmert is rushing toward it like a drunken sailor in a liquor store. And Israel’s biggest supporters all over the world are praying to see Allen Funt pop out of nowhere telling us it was all a joke with his patented "Smile you are on Candid Camera." Sadly Funt died years ago and Olmert's blunders are not even the least bit funny.

Yesterday two more Kassams were fired into Israel Arutz Sheva reported
Two Kassams were fired within the space of an hour towards Sderot and Kibbutz Yad Mordechai last night, causing no damage. A Fatah organization - the Al Aksa Brigades - boasted that it had fired the projectiles. Fatah is run by PA Chairman Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas).

Meeting last night with European Union ambassadors at the home of the Finnish Ambassador, Olmert said, "We are slightly disappointed by the continued Kassam firings by the Palestinians. I very much hope that the Palestinians will fulfill their obligations and cease their fire."
DISSAPOINTED? Dissapointed is how I feel when my kids don't do their homework. THIS IS ATTEMPTED MASS MURDER. YOU SHOULD BE PISSED OFF BEYOND COMARE ! Yet you would rather be pissed on than pissed off ! Where is the anger, the passion, THE RETALIATION?

But wait there is more:

In other security news, a female terrorist tried to stab an Israeli soldier near Bir Zeit, north of Ramallah. She was apprehended. In Gush Etzion, a policeman was lightly-to-moderately wounded when an Arab ran him down at a checkpoint near Efrat. His car - a stolen vehicle - was later found, but the driver escaped.
Nu? Echud--you asleep or just figuring out how you are going further teach terrorists that killing people is a legitimate way to express ones position? Your military keeps advising that you are sacrificing security. Don't you ever read? Here is another tidbit from Arutz Sheva
His decision [Olmert's] in essence undermines the IDF and intelligence communities, which continue to warn the hiatus in IDF counter-terror operations in northern Gaza serve Hamas and other Gaza-based terrorists only, permitting them an opportunity to restock and prepare for the next round of warfare. Sderot residents are pained and outraged, well-aware that the ceasefire is yet another sign by Israel of her inability/unwillingness to bring the attacks to a halt.
If that's not enough to make you ill, just look at the next steps:

  • And guess what the terrorists are getting for Chanukah ?Al-Aqsa Brigades present new rocket
As the fragile ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinians goes into its third day, dozens of members of the of the Al-Aqsa Martyr's Brigade gathered in Nablus for a military parade showing off what they say is the new and improved rockets of the organization in the West Bank. The activists claimed that the rocket is a new model called Jund Allah 1, and it will be operational soon to be launched at Israeli targets.
In two weeks we celebrate the festival of Chanuka. More than a holiday that you can spell 100 differnt ways, on Hanukah we remember a small group of Jews lead by the Macabees, who stood up to the Hellenists and saved Israel. The part of the Chanukkah story that is not told often is that the Macabees stood up to their own leaders who were selling out their country to the Hellenists. As we approach Hanukkah we must keep pressuring Omert to do the right thing, and let the world know the real story the one you don't get from traditional media. Most importantly we must pray to our maker for a new group of Macabees to challenge the leadership to stop giving in to terrorists or if that’s not possible, maybe a visit from Allen Funt.

It's maddening that the world is so firmly anti-Israel that they still think that a cease-fire is still a cease-fire when only Israel stops firing.
You are right to be outraged.
