Most Israelis Believe Obama Biased AGAINST Israel

Whenever I write an article criticizing President Obama's treatment of Israel, the comments from liberal Obama apologists trying to convince me that in general, Israelis, support Obama’s “plan.” The average Israeli loves and trusts Obama, just like everyone else in the world.Palestinian President Abbas has even said that he is banking on that to bring down the Netanyahu government, so he could get a Prime Minster that will be more likely to give-in to all the Palestinian demands. That would be an interesting position, if it were true.

A new poll of Israelis release today reported that by more than a 2 to 1 margin Israelis believe that Obama's policies are bad for Israel:

The poll of 501 Israelis, sponsored by Yediot Aharonot and representing a statistical sample of the population, found that 53 percent believed Obama's policies were not good for Israel and just 26% said they were good. The rest did not respond.

Fifty-one percent said Obama cared more about the Palestinian desire for a state than about Israeli security, and just 22% said he put Israel's security needs first.

Asked whether they were disappointed with Obama's policies, 51% said yes, 41% said no and the rest declined to answer. Half the respondents said they blamed both Obama and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for the perceived crisis between Israel and the US, 28% solely blamed Obama and 16% just Netanyahu....On the settlement issue, Israelis, unlike the Obama government, differentiate between established settlements and unauthorized outposts. Seventy percent called for removing outposts, and just 25% supported keeping them. However, regarding freezing current settlements, the gap was much smaller, with 52% in favor and 43% opposed. Regarding natural growth in settlements, 54% said it should be considered and 42% said it should not.
But there is more. The Fanis Research Institute, has released a poll that goes even further, 59% of the Israeli public believe that the president of the United States tends to side, with the Arabs when it comes to the Arab Israeli conflict. 29% think Obama is Hostile to Israel.

Each of these polls were taken before the President threw Israel under the bus in Cairo last week. The Jerusalem Post poll will have those numbers in a few days, but they are bound to look even worse.

When you look at the appethetic reaction to Obama's words in the Arab nations, combined with the fact that Palestinian President Abbas is still refusing to negotiate unless Israel first conceeds to all of his positions, it seems that the only result of Obama's "tough" stance on Israel was to allienate the population of America's best ally in the region. Nice going, Mr. Hope and change.
