RASMUSSEN BUMP ! - Voter Opposition to Obamacare Spikes UP

This is why the president is rushing his health care bill through Congress. The more information voters discover about Obamacare, the more they don't like it. In the latest Rasmussen Poll 53% of voters oppose the President's health plan, that's up from 45% in late June.
Today’s 44% level of support is down from 46% two weeks ago, and 50% in late June.Opposition has grown from 45% in late June to 49% two weeks ago and 53% today.
Support for the bill is more tepid than the opposition. The current  poll numbers show 24% strongly favor and 37% strongly oppose it.

Just like the previous polls the support for the plan comes mostly from the President's party,  68% of Democrats favor it. The plan  plan is opposed by 80% of Republicans and 60% of independents.

Voters are concerned about what the bill will do to their wallets and the federal deficit.
One reason for the decline in support may be the legislative emphasis on universal coverage rather than cost controls. Voters see cost, not universal coverage, as the biggest health care concern. Also, 78% believe that health care reform is likely to lead to middle class tax hikes. Figuring out how to pay for the trillion dollar-plus plan has presented a significant challenge for congressional Democrats working on the legislation.
Voters also subscribe to the fact that to err is human, but to really screw things up you need congress. Americans, by a two-to-one margin, believe that no matter how bad things are, Congress can always make it worse.  70% of those who have health insurance rate their own coverage as good or excellent.

The biggest sticking point to the voters is the so-called "public option"  (35%) of voters favor a public health care option while 50% are opposed.

Just in the past week Gallup,Washington Post, USA Today , Politico and the Associated press all published polls indicating that the approval of the President's health care plan is falling. Obama however, continues to ram this plan down our throats.
