Iran Testing Final Component Of Nuclear Bomb-The Trigger

A nuclear bomb consists of three main parts: Nuclear fuel, launching systems and a neutron initiator that is needed to trigger a fission chain reaction. The initiator makes sure that the chain reaction happens at the right time. To obtain projected nuclear yield of the bomb, you need to have enough neutrons within the supercritical core at the right time. If the chain reaction starts too soon, the result will be only a "fizzle yield," much below the design specification; if it occurs too late, there may be no yield whatever. It is the initiator that makes sure the neutrons are at the right place at the right time.

There is no peaceful purpose for the initiator. The Times of London has unearthed a memo showing that Iran has been working on an initiator since at least 2007:

Confidential intelligence documents obtained by The Times show that Iran is working on testing a key final component of a nuclear bomb.

The notes, from Iran’s most sensitive military nuclear project, describe a four-year plan to test a neutron initiator, the component of a nuclear bomb that triggers an explosion. Foreign intelligence agencies date them to early 2007, four years after Iran was thought to have suspended its weapons programme.

An Asian intelligence source last week confirmed to The Times that his country also believed that weapons work was being carried out as recently as 2007 — specifically, work on a neutron initiator.

That's two years before President Obama started his appeasment outreach efforts/

The technical document describes the use of a neutron source, uranium deuteride, which independent experts confirm has no possible civilian or military use other than in a nuclear weapon. Uranium deuteride is the material used in Pakistan’s bomb, from where Iran obtained its blueprint.

“Although Iran might claim that this work is for civil purposes, there is no civil application,” said David Albright, a physicist and president of the Institute for Science and International Security in Washington, which has analysed hundreds of pages of documents related to the Iranian programme. “This is a very strong indicator of weapons work.”

The documents have been seen by intelligence agencies from several Western countries, including Britain. A senior source at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that they had been passed to the UN’s nuclear watchdog.

A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokeswoman said yesterday: “We do not comment on intelligence, but our concerns about Iran’s nuclear programme are clear. Obviously this document, if authentic, raises serious questions about Iran’s intentions.”

Responding to The Times’ findings, an Israeli government spokesperson said: “Israel is increasingly concerned about the state of the Iranian nuclear programme and the real intentions that may lie behind it.
No wonder Spiegel Online is reporting that Israel is getting frustrated about America's discussions with Iran, they are not making it a secret that their patience is running very thin:

Although the premier is not yet prepared to deploy Israeli fighter jets to conduct targeted air strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, the military has plans at the ready.
Netanyahu has said often enough that he will never accept an Iranian nuclear bomb. He doesn't believe Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad when he insists that Iran's nuclear program is intended solely for civilian purposes. But he does take Ahmadinejad -- a notorious Holocaust denier -- at his word when he repeatedly threatens to wipe out Israel. Netanyahu draws parallels between Europe's appeasement of Hitler and the current situation. "It's 1938, and Iran is Germany," he says. This time, however, says Netanyahu, the Jews will not allow themselves to be the "sacrificial lamb."
Although described as a "hardliner" Netanyahu's position on preventing Iran from getting nukes were the same as all the major party leaders including the more liberal Ehud Barack, and Kadama's Tzipi Livni. All three believe that Iran must be prevented from getting nuclear weapons at all costs

Its time for the US to s**t of get off the pot. All the evidence points to the fact that Iran is building a bomb and the US, is getting snookered. And through this appeasement, I ran is getting closer and closer to a nuclear weapon.
