Media Matters Makes World Record Caliber (for Lameness) Charge of Antisemitism Against Glenn Beck

George Soros should ask for his money back, the million dollars he gave Media Matters to go after Fox News is a waste. Glenn began a series of shows exposing the financier and Democratic Party sugar daddy Soros and what was the best the progressive spin shop come up with? Something that will rank as probably the lamest charge of Antisemitism made since God told Abraham to leave Ur, the land of his birth, his kindred and his father's house, and move to the Holy Land and create the first "Jewish neighborhood."

First they made the charge against the Beck-owned website, The Blaze.
Beck's webpage pushes book that smears Soros with anti-Semitic sterotypes:
Today Glenn Beck's The Blaze turned to "Zubi Diamond, author of The Wizards of Wall Street" in order to push the claim that George Soros may be "betting on U.S. financial collapse." According to Diamond, Soros' agenda is "to destroy capitalism."
That the Blaze would turn to Diamond to further Beck's smear campaign against Soros is telling: Diamond's self-published book is littered smears of George Soros that are rooted in anti-Semitic stereotypes, including calling Soros the "mastermind" behind of a "cabal of slithery rich" who "visited financial violence on the American people to get Barack Obama elected."
You waiting for the anti-Semitic part?  Me too. Or is that Media Matters is claiming every cabal of slithery rich is Jewish?

Frankly this charge is absurd, and not even close to being justified.  Yes there is an anti-Semitic stereotype about Jews owning the banks, but Diamond isn't even close to making that claim. Usually when people are trying to make an anti-Semitic comment about businessmen, they talk about NY Bankers like this comment President Obama made on 60 Minutes
"I did not run for office to be helping out a bunch of fat cat bankers on Wall Street"
But that wasn't enough for Soros' little lemmings. Media Matters followed up with a charge just as ridiculous against what Glenn Beck was saying on TV. The Soros spokesmen charge  this particular paragraph was meant as an anti-Jewish comment.
Last night, we introduced you to the puppet master, billionaire financier George Soros, notorious for collapsing economies and regimes all around the world. He's known as the man who broke the bank of England. The Prime Minister of Malaysia called Soros an unscrupulous profiteer. In Thailand, he was branded the "economic war criminal." They also said that he "sucks the blood from people."
According to the progressive spin-machine, when the Fox commentator was bringing up Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad comment,  he was using an anti-Semitics stereotype because  the PM first said  (and then retracted) that Soros' action was part a Jewish conspiracy. Totally ignoring the fact that Beck was quoting the Prime Minister not using his own words, Beck didn't mention the word Jew in his monologue nor was even close to referencing Jews and as described here, the Mahathir/Soros charge was part of a long term hissy fit between the two.

Even though Beck was quoting Thailand when he said Soros "sucks the blood from people," According to Media Matters that was an anti-Semitic comment because Hitler said something similar about Jews in Mein Kampf. Of course Hitler was talking about Jews, but the Ethiopians were talking only about Soros.

The fact is Media Matters does not give a rats ass about Antisemitism, if they cared they would have complained about any of these comments made by Soros and other progressives that were clearly anti-Semitic. Like when Obama's national security adviser Jim Jones began a speech with a joke using a real anti-Semitic stereotype that Jews are greedy merchants.

Even more blatant is the constant use of the term Israel-lobby which is just a politically correct version of that anti-Semitic stereotype that Jews run American Foreign policy. For example Media Matters never complained about any of these quotes:
  • George Soros "The pro-Israel lobby has been remarkably successful in suppressing criticism."
  • Samantha Power, member of Barack Obama's national security team was on a book tour in 2008 when she complained that criticism of Barack Obama all too often revolved around "what is good for the Jews".
  • General Merrel McPeak former Obama for President Co-Chair who an impressive resume of "Jewish Lobby comments. Perhaps his best was when he was asked during an interview why there isn't peace in the Middle East said, "New York City. Miami. We have a large vote -- vote, here in favor of Israel. And no politician wants to run against it." (in other words those pesky Jews, who  control America's policy on the Middle East.)
  • Bishop Desmond Tutu, Given the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Obama despite the fact that he is a Jew-hater, "People are scared in this country [the US], to say wrong is wrong because the Jewish lobby is powerful "
There are plenty of other examples, comments made by one-time Obama appointee Chas Freeman, Obama Campaign adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski, Progressive Congressmen Moran and Ellison just to name a few.

The point is, a false charge of Antisemitism is anti-Jewish in itself. It takes an ugly term and cheapens it making the term almost trite. What Media Matters has done is even worse, not only making false charges of Antisemitism against Beck and The Blaze, but it ignores Antisemitism when it is made by progressives.

Thankfully for Mr. Soros he has tons of money, because this million was wasted. This absurd and hypocritical charge of Antisemitism made by Media Matters is so feeble that anyone can see through it as another attempt to prevent Glenn Beck from telling the truth about the progressive kingmaker.

R.S. McCain takes on a different absurd charge against Glenn Beck (the Congressman Weenie one about Beck's Gold ads).  Click here to read  Everybody Should Buy Gold, Even If Glenn Beck Gets Paid to Tell You So
