What is our objective keeping open the no-fly zone, protecting Libyan citizens, or getting rid of Quaddafi. Why are we there? If the Arab League wants the Libyan people protected, why don't they do it? If France wants Quaddafi out, why don't they do it? If we aren't going to have troops on the ground, why do we marines on the ground? What if Quaddafi heeds the threats and stops and the rebels want some on the ground protection, will the UN provide a peacekeeping force?What if the rebels attack Quaddafi's forces do we provided them cover? What if the insurgents start attacking civilians who are loyal to the despot, do we protect citizens by attacking the rebels? After all our goal is to protect citizens Will the US be part of that force? Most importantly how do we get out? When do we know that our mission is over and our heroes can come home? And those are just some of the questions people are asking.
Back in 2007 when he was still Senator Obama, the future President said the American people have a right to know about and participate in the debate over U.S. foreign policy decisions and whether the nation uses military force.
“But the fact of the matter is that when we don’t talk to the American people – we’re debating the most important foreign policy issues that we face, and the American people have a right to know,” Obama said at the AFL-CIO debate on Aug. 7, 2007.
“It is not just Washington insiders that are part of the debate that has to take place with respect to how we’re going to shift our foreign policy,” he said.Obama then went on to make the statement shown in the video below promising the American people that he would tell the American people what he planned to do, before he did it, was the right thing to do (if you can't see the video below click here)
This is another example of the difference between candidate Obama and President Obama, he is so arrogant that he doesn't even bother to explain why we are waging a war in Libya.
