HYPOCRISY! Romney Whines About His Opponents Use of Democratic Party Tactics Then Uses Them Himself

Granted, I was a bit tired last night but Governor Romney confused me a bit during the debate yesterday. I could have sworn he said something about Republican candidates not using Democratic Party tactics against each other just before he launched into a Nancy Pelosi-like tirade about the Gingrich ethics probe.

In early December Pelosi told TPM
“One of these days we’ll have a conversation about Newt Gingrich,” Pelosi said. “I know a lot about him. I served on the investigative committee that investigated him, four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year. A thousand pages of his stuff.”
Pressed for more detail she wouldn’t go further.
“Not right here,” Pelosi joked. “When the time’s right.”
According to Mitt Romney, Gingrich resigned in shame because of his ethics violations. His surrogate Chris Christie said the Gingrich ethics violations were an embarrassment to the party. Chris calm down..have some jelly donuts or something.

Why are they making this an issue when it is clear that the former speaker did nothing wrong? That's what the Bill Clinton-controlled IRS found.

As reported by CNN right after the IRS made its ruling:

Tax fraud? Well, never mind. After a three-and-a-half year examination, the Internal Revenue Service -- Bill Clinton's IRS -- has issued an official finding: no violation of tax laws. Critics said the course, which was videotaped and widely distributed, was too political; a scheme to use a tax-exempt educational foundation to promote a Republican agenda and elect Republican candidates.

But in a 74-page memorandum, the IRS said otherwise, quote: "The taught principles from American civilization that could be used by each American in everyday life, whether the person is a welfare recipient, the head of a large corporation or a politician." It said: "The course was not biased toward particular politicians, or a particular party. The facts show the class was much more than a political platform."

There was no comment from Congressman Bonior, who had accused Gingrich of tax fraud, but there was comment from the president of the foundation that sponsored Gingrich's course.

The Facts show that Mitt Romney is doing exactly what complained his opponents were doing, using false Democratic Party rhetorical tactics to spread lies about his opponents. This kind of scorched-earth campaigning only serves one purpose, to re-elect Barack Obama.
