Why Pick on IRAN?

On his first day in office after succeeding kooky Koffi Annan, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon told Iran it was unacceptable to deny the Holocaust or call for Israel to be wiped off the map. While this is a good start, Mr. Ban should not have limited his statements to Iran. There are other people who have denied the holocaust and called for the destruction of Israel (no I am not talking about Pat Buchanan). Take for example Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Abbas' most public record of holocaust denial was his doctoral dissertation (he went to grad school in the USSR). Later published throughout the Arab word, the "Moderate" terrorist leader wrote that the Zionists, in collaboration with the Nazis, dreamed up this plan to exaggerate the Shoah, and that maybe less than one million Jews were killed. That is a novel approach...Blame it on the Jews (You know... it DOES sound like Buchanan)

In the introduction to his 1984 study, Abu Mazen referred to well-known Holocaust deniers, and claimed that the number of Jews murdered in the Holocaust might be "even less than a million." Abu Mazen claimed that the Zionist movement had a stake in convincing world public opinion that the number of victims was high; thus, it would achieve "greater gains" after the war when the time came to "distribute the spoils."

Abu Mazen's intention was to undermine the legitimacy of the Zionist movement by proving that during a critical stage in the history of the Jewish people – the rise of Nazism and World War II – the Zionist leadership stopped at nothing to achieve its aim of establishing a Jewish state. He wrote, "The truth [about the Nazi crimes] has another aspect" that the West preferred to disregard; instead, the West concealed "a basic partner in crime" – that is, the Zionist movement. The study pointed to a convergence of the interests of the Nazi and the Zionist movements, and the fundamental similarity in the two movements' theories. The central claim Abu Mazen sought to prove is that the Zionist movement, with all its factions, conspired against the Jewish people and collaborated with the Nazis to annihilate it, because the movement considered "Palestine" the only appropriate destination for Jewish emigration. Later in his book Abbas takes up the issue of gas chambers:
Abbas denies that the gas chambers were used to murder Jews, quoting a "scientific study" to that effect by French Holocaust-denier Robert Faurisson. Abbas' book then asserts: "The historian and author Raoul Hilberg thinks that the figure does not exceed 890,000." Front Page Feb 2003
The "Moderate" Palestinian President has never fully backed away from his doctoral thesis as David Bedein Reports in this week's Front Page.

In May 2003, shortly after Abbas became the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority, correspondents from the Israeli media confronted him with his thesis. In that meeting with Israeli reporters, Abbas would not apologize nor retract the Holocaust denial thesis that he had written. Abbas has consistently refused to distance himself from his thesis. However, the Israeli government is not pushing him to do so.

After all, there are political considerations, since the Israeli government is currently in negotiation with Abbas. In other words, to deny the holocaust in Teheran is reprehensible; to do so in Ramallah is acceptable. Front Page 12/12/06

Like his contemporary Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Abbas is more than just a Shoah revisionist. He is also the head of Fatah, an terrorist organization that calls for the destruction of Israel. The Fatah Constitution explicitly calls for the destruction of Israel through violent means. It has not been amended, and can be read in English on Fatah's official website. It states as the organization's primary goal:
  • "Article (12) Complete liberation of Palestine, and eradication of Zionist economic, political, military and cultural existence."

The constitution of Abbas' party also states methods which should be used to eradicate the Zionist entity:

  • "Article (17) Armed public revolution is the inevitable method to liberating Palestine."
  • "Article (19) Armed struggle is a strategy and not a tactic, and the Palestinian Arab People's armed revolution is a decisive factor in the liberation fight and in uprooting the Zionist existence, and this struggle will not cease unless the Zionist state is demolished and Palestine is completely liberated."
  • "Article (22) Opposing any political solution offered as an alternative to demolishing the Zionist occupation in Palestine, as well as any project intended to liquidate the Palestinian case or impose any international mandate on its people. "
No Political solution, uprooting the Zionist entity, HOOO BOY, that sounds like a moderate to me, no wonder everyone is in such a rush to negotiate with him.

This guy is almost the philosophical twin of
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a Shoah denier who call for the destruction of Israel. The only difference is that Ahmadinejad's government has "only" supplied weapons to terrorists. Abbas' government has actully executed terrorist attacks.

Here are just some of the terrorist attacks perpetuated by Abbas' Fatah since he succeeded A
rafat:
  • April 17, 2006: Nine people were killed and at least 40 wounded in a suicide bombing near the old central bus station in Tel Aviv. The blast ripped through Falafel Rosh Ha'ir, the same restaurant that was hit by an attack on January 19. The Islamic Jihad and Fatah’s Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades both claimed responsibility for the attack.
  • March 30, 2006: Four people were killed in a suicide bombing outside Kedumim in the northern West Bank. The Al-Aksa Martyrs Brigades took responsibility for the attack.
  • October 16, 2005: Palestinian gunmen killed three Israelis and wounded as least 5 others in two separate drive-by shootings in the West Bank. The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for both attacks.
  • August 28, 2005: A suicide bombing outside the Central Bus Station in Beersheba severely injured two security guards who stopped the bomber from entering the bus station. Islamic Jihad and Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack.
  • July 23, 2005: Two people were killed and three others wounded in a drive-by shooting near the Kissufim crossing in the Gaza Strip. Islamic Jihad and Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack.
  • June 24, 2005: Two teenagers were killed and three others wounded in a drive-by shooting near Hebron. The Al-Aksa Martyrs Brigade claimed responsibility for the attack.
  • January 13, 2005: Six Israelis were killed and five other civilians were wounded in a double suicide bombing at the Karni crossing between Israel and the Gaza Strip. The two suicide bombers used a very large explosive device to blast through a defensive wall that separates the Israeli and Palestinian sides at the crossing. Following the blast, the bombers crossed into the Israeli side, carrying explosives on their bodies, which they detonated. Hamas and the Fatah al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades claimed joint responsiblity for the attack.
  • December 15, 2004: Five motorists, an officer, three soldiers and a civilian were wounded from gunshots fired by a terrorist at Israeli vehicles on the Kissufim road in the Gaza Strip. Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Fatah claimed joint responsibility for the attack.
This week Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been justifiably criticized for spewing hatred against Jews and Israel. So can somebody please tell me why the President of the Palestinian Authority, who as actually acted on his hatred of Jews and Israel, gets off "scott free.”? Abbas is the head of a terrorist organization and a "man" who says the Shoah was really a Zionist plot. I guess you get criticized when you spew anti-Jewish hatred, but when you "kill yourself some Jews" well, then you are a Moderate. It is a real strange world we live in.

They're all part and parcel, whether working together or not. Won't they all openly align against the Great Satan one day?

Look we need to talk to Abbas. "Yid" hate begats hate, get over it.

But Jeremy we HAVE spoken to Abbas and have been met with more terror. Either he doesn't have the legitimacy to be the leader of the Palestinians or He hasn't changed his stripes (it is obvious which way I go) But either way it is a waste of time to talk to him.
BTW Good Shabbos and Chag Chanukah Samayach

The thing is that Abbas is tamer than more the 50% of the Palestinians, or so it seems.
They all cling to conspiracy theories to deflect from the humiliation the truth brings.
Finding a Palestinian leader worthy of true negotiation is like finding a crocodile worthy of being a household pet.

Darweesh Qaimari has left a new comment on your post "Why Pick on IRAN?":

Sincere promise, a promise made by Lebanon to help the Palestinian people due to the massive destruction to the city of Gaza by the Israeli monsters, Lebanon made his country for freedom of Palestinians and help them in these difficult circumstances, was the war on 13th of July 2006 between the Israelis and the Lebanese staged and led to the destruction of southern Lebanon and the launching of thousands of missiles, which shelled northern Israel for the first time since the emergence of the State of Israel.
