Hillary: If I ran the world

After they all prayed for the destruction of Israel with their Favorite Imam, The DNC convention sat down for a speech by their leading presidential contender, the Junior Senator from New York, Hillary Clinton. The former first lady and self-proclaimed co-president (I wonder if that means she had Monica every other Tuesday) did a flip-flop on Iraq worthy of John "soldiers in Iraq are idiots" Kerry. Joseph Farah of WND gives a brilliant discussion of her speech

Pillory Hillary

Hillary Clinton says she wouldn't have started the war in Iraq and would end it immediately if she's elected president in 2008.

I've got news for this shrew.

This war might not have been necessary if her miscreant husband, with whom she likes to suggest she shared a kind of co-presidency, had taken care of business with Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein rather than Monica Lewinsky and other clueless broads.

"If I had been president in October 2002, I would not have started this war," she claimed Saturday.

What is she talking about? Hillary was in the United States Senate at that time – she voted to approve the war. Not only that, she did so enthusiastically, explaining to her antiwar critics at the time that she had personally studied the situation for a decade and recognized the absolute necessity of a bid to topple Saddam Hussein.

(Column continues below)

Hillary's remarks Saturday are just the latest effort to rewrite her own personal history of support for the war she now decries. A week earlier in Iowa, Hillary said she was deceived by Bush on the congressional vote to take military action against Iraq.

"So he took the authority that I and others gave him and he misused it, and I regret that deeply," she said. "And if we had known then what we know now, there never would have been a vote and I never would have voted to give this president that authority."

Does Hillary plan on consulting a crystal ball when she is president – looking into the future before making decisions? Or maybe she will commune with the spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt.

I guess what Hillary really means is that if she knew her vote to go to war would be unpopular three years later, she would have voted differently. While her husband was famous for governing by public opinion poll, Hillary is evidently planning on governing retroactively by poll.

Hillary is not only trying to rewrite her actions of the past, she is attempting to rewrite her words and justifications for those actions. For instance, she claims now that in 2003 her position was "we should not go to war unless we have allies."

Actually, she said the exact opposite in 2003. She insisted we would probably have to go it alone.

"With respect to whose responsibility it is to disarm Saddam Hussein, I just do not believe that, given the attitudes of many people in the world community today, that there would be a willingness to take on very difficult problems, were it not for the United States leadership," Hillary told Code Pink in 2003.

How did she make her decision?

"I ended up voting for the resolution after carefully reviewing the information, intelligence that I had available, talking with people whose opinions I trusted, tried to discount the political or other factors that I didn't believe should be in any way a part of this decision," she said in 2003.

Could war have been prevented back then?

"There is a very easy way to prevent anyone from being put into harm's way – that is for Saddam Hussein to disarm," she said in 2003. "And I have absolutely no belief that he will. I have to say that this is something I've followed for more than a decade. If he were serious about disarming, he would have been much more forthcoming."

Hillary then. Hillary now. Will the real Hillary please stand up?

Here she is now – blaming others, denying any responsibility for her own decision: "This was his (the president's) decision to go to war. He went with an ill-conceived plan and an incompetently executed strategy, and we should expect him to extricate our country from this before he leaves office."

She adds today: "There are no do-overs in life. I wish there were. You know, I acted on the best judgment that I had at the time, and at the time I said this was not a vote for preemptive war, and the president took my vote and other votes and basically misused the authority we gave him."

Amazingly, Hillary is permitted to get away with this kind of distortion, misrepresentation and convenient forgetfulness right out there in broad daylight – in front of an international media that have access to the same recent historical information I have and you have. It doesn't shock me that Hillary lies. It would surprise me if she told the truth. But it is breathtaking to me that she is allowed to get away with it by nearly all my colleagues in the press.

Hillary's husband did everything he could to make our current war with Islamo-fascism inevitable through his policies of appeasement, slashing military spending, covering up terrorist attacks, failing 13 times to get bin Laden when we had him in our sights and supporting the bad guys in the Balkans by attacking Serbia.

Now Hillary is jeopardizing our national security, once again, by announcing she will immediately surrender in Iraq if she is elected president.

A deceiving, power-mad demagogue like Hillary should be run out of the presidential race on a rail. She represents a grave and imminent danger to our free republic.

We should be so lucky.

The only one that would be lucky is the Iranians and Palestinians because they would have free reign because if (G-d forbid) Hillary returns to the white house she will no longer need the Jewish vote like she does in NY. She will return to her Selling out Israel ways.

Please, yid with lid, you totally misunderstood the first commenter.
What he really means, obviously, is that we should be so lucky as to have Hillary "run out of the presidential race on a rail"

That comment, considering the tone of the article, only makes sense that way. Can't agree with him more! It shows that in spite of his silly moniker, there is some Jewish sense left in his brain yet.

This is all very sad.
Personally, i think that IF she was the nominee and was elected, we would be much better off dmoestically and abroad (yes even israel) with her at the helm, the likes of what we have now in arab oil rich bush-cheney-rice-rumsfeld.
