The Press' Blood Libel Against Israel Disproved (look for it on page 42 tomorrow)

Back in October I posted Another Blood Libel from the British Press which discussed a report from a paper called The Independant. This exlusive report which was picked up all over the world said as a fact that Israel used nuclear tipped weapons in Lebanon.
The IDF on Saturday denied a report by the British newspaper The Independent claiming that Israel used uranium-based munitions, including uranium-tipped bunker-buster bombs, during its war against Hizbullah in Lebanon this summer.

"The IDF Spokesman's Office wants to make it clear that no munitions containing uranium were used in the war in Lebanon," an IDF spokesman told The Jerusalem Post.

According to the report, scientists found two soil samples thrown up by Israeli heavy or guided bombs which showed "elevated radiation signatures." "Scientific evidence gathered from at least two bomb craters in Khiam and At-Tiri, the scene of fierce fighting between Hizbullah guerrillas and Israeli troops last July and August suggests that uranium-based munitions may now also be included in Israel's weapons inventory - and were used against targets in Lebanon," it said.

Today TWO studies were released one from the UN and one from Lebanon's Atomic Energy Commision, BOTH REPORTS SAID THE INDEPENDANT'S ARTICLE, WHICH WAS PICKED UP BY MOST MAJOR NEWS ORGANIZATION OF THE WORLD WAS UNTRUE.

The UN's presentaion as reported in YNET:
Steiner also said the UN team found no evidence of penetrators or metal made of depleted uranium or other radioactive material. The assessment appeared to counter some media reports that suggested uranium-based munitions had been used during the month long war that ended on Aug. 14.

”No depleted uranium shrapnel, or other radioactive residue was found. The analysis of all smear samples taken shows no depleted uranium, enriched uranium or higher than natural uranium content in the samples,” he said in a statement.

Steiner said the UN team collected samples from Sept. 30 to Oct. 21 with one group focusing on munitions during the conflicts. Several samples were taken to three independent laboratories in Europe for tests, the statement said.
YNet Aslo Reported the Lebanese Statement:
The Lebanese Atomic Energy Commission has ruled that no toxic radioactive materials were found in the areas bombed by Israel during the recent war , following a series of accusations and suspicions regarding the shells and weapons used by the Israel Defense Forces.

The ruling, based on laboratory tests, was presented during a scientific symposium on nuclear energy held in Lebanon on Monday. The symposium was aimed at informing the Lebanese public of lab tests carried out on more than 100 sites bombed during the war.

The original report was carried as front page news all around the world, but I guarantee all of you--- that if I get a dime for every time the statements above (proving Israel's innocence) are on the front page of a paper tomorrow, I still won't be able purchase my morning bagel an schmear.

The fact that Israel did not use nuclear tipped weapons in Lebanon is not as important as the accusation. Isn't the press wonderful?

Because the truth that does not conform to the Leftist agenda is not "the news that's fit to print."

Freedom of the press belongs to the one who own the press, I'm surprised you don't know that by now.

Having been in the U.K. a number of times I can speak from personal knowledge that amount of MILITANT ISLAMOFASCISTS is started to outnumber the amount of VERY scared Jews.

That said, the amount of ARAB newsreporters has also grown disproportionately. Of course they also invoke the name of the U.N. - which should be turned into cheap housing for lower income families.

These Arabs OWN most of the press in the U.K. I prefer the Guardian... and the Sun still has naked women on its pages!! No bhurkas yet.
