If you see something suspicious--SHUT UP!!!
Well the Kumbya PC police in the Democratic party got their way--those words you hear over and over again every time there is another foiled terror attack "be vigilant," "if you see something say something," "your eyes are our best defense." All of these quotes are saying the same thing if we want to be safe, we need open our mouths and tell the authorities when something looks strange. Like the smoking car in London, or the Jihad pictures in the Fort Dix case, even the attempt to blow up Kennedy Airport was foiled because a good person opened his mouth.
Congressman Peter King introduced an amendment to protect the whistle blowers--on Friday the Democrats Killed it....

I agree, to a point. I believe that if people would say something, and are correct in their whistle blowing, they deserve to be protected. However, total immunity is not the answer. If someone called you a terrorist, and is blatantly wrong, you deserve the same rights to protection from slander, and wages lost from investigation as they do. It isn't that the deserve no protection, just not total immunity.
Reword the law for "..intent to slander, hard, or otherwise inappropriate whistle blowing still subject to compensation..." or some such language.
