Ehud Barak's "Stump Speech" All TALK, NO ACTION

Today is Tsunami Tuesday in the US. Twenty-four states have primaries almost half of the delegates for both major parties. For months now the candidates have been traveling around those states giving their political stump speech. Its the same speech in every market and it doesn't matter because the only ones that have to hear it more than once is the press and they know "the game". While the Primary is going on in the US in Israel, Defense Minister Ehud Barak is giving the same old "stump speech." Its theme is "this time we are really, truly going to do something about the terror, we really mean it this time !" Unlike that of the American politicos, everyone hears that same tired old speech over and over again. And unfortunately, he never backs up his words with action. Its Time Ehud...Its TIME.

The Jerusalem Post Internet Edition
Barak: We will provide solutions to terror and Kassams JPost.com Staff , THE JERUSALEM POST Feb. 5, 2008 A day after a suicide bomber detonated an explosives belt in Dimona, killing 73-year-old Lyobov Razdolskya and critically wounding her husband, Defense Minister Ehud Barak promised that the IDF would provide solutions to terrorism and return a sense of security to the south. "Today Kassam rockets were once again fired at Sderot, and yesterday there was a terror attack in Dimona," Barak told cadets at an officers course in Shizafon Base in the south. "We will provide the solutions, just as in the past your parents came up with solutions when they were fighting in the Jordan Valley." On Monday, Reuters had reported that Hamas's armed wing, Izaddin Kassam, claimed responsibility for the suicide attack, saying that the bombers came from Hebron and not the Gaza Strip. "We will now provide solutions to terror from Hebron and to Kassams from Gaza," the defense minister said. Meanwhile, Meretz MK Avshalom Vilan wrote a letter to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in which he asked the premier to complete the erection of a security fence along the border with Egypt in order to prevent the infiltration of terrorists into the south of the country. "A day after the suicide attack in Dimona, I turn to you and ask that you complete the security fence in the south of the country with the utmost speed," Vilan wrote. "The security fence in the West Bank has spared us many victims, and it is a shame that it was only erected after we sustained about 500 dead. I therefore propose that we complete the fence in the southern region and properly seal off our border with Egypt."
