Obama To Small Town America---YOU SUCK !!!

I am not a regular reader of the Huffington Post but when one of my readers sent me this link, to today's
Mayhill Fowler column --well I just had to.

When I read this post I learned another thing that Barack Obama doesn't understand; everything that takes place more than 20 miles outside the nearest major city.

.....Pennsylvanians are scrappy survivors. They complain (particularly about their governor and Clinton surrogate Ed Rendell, who doesn't seem as popular as the media make him out to be), but they endure. They refuse to be bound to the broken temples of commerce and manufacturing, the vacant Beaux Arts hotels, the rotting nineteenth-century row houses, the abandoned sidings and once-grand railway stations that inscribe Scranton and Wilkes-Barre and diminish Pittsburgh and Lancaster. Pennsylvanians are remarkably chipper. In the end, the material world that once gave them prosperity has not defined them. On the contrary, Pennsylvania unfolds in an interlocking chain of Turkeyfoots and Allentowns, held separately and together by a sense of shared community, of humor, of history, and of abiding faith.

These qualities of hospitality, patriotism and endurance are exactly what Californians need to hear about Pennsylvanians. And when he spoke to a group of his wealthier Golden State backers at a San Francisco fund-raiser last Sunday, Barack Obama took a shot at explaining the yawning cultural gap that separates a Turkeyfoot from a Marin County. "You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them," Obama said. "And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations. Obama: No Surprise That Hard-Pressed Pennsylvanians Turn Bitter

In the Senator's opinion Small Town America is nothing but a bunch of KKK-joining goobers who sit on their porches all day, with a shotgun slung over one shoulder, screaming obcenities to immigrants (except for Sunday when they go to Church).

Even though I have lived in or near a big city my entire life, I have visited rural America enough to truly appreciate it. You see Senator, when people talk about American Values, those values were formed in the Rural parts of the US.

Rural America is where people still believe in the goodness of hard work, its where families still get together for dinner and a man's word is still his bond. Rural America is where people still have 4th of July parades and still stop to salute the flag of the nation that gives them a home.

Do people in rural America think differently than in the big city--YOU Betcha! In the small towns that you put down so easily, people think to bring food over to their neighbors who may be a little under the weather, they still take their hats off when they go inside and still believe that it is worthwhile to listen to an old person because you can learn from their experience.

Many of the people in rural America not only look after their own kids, but aren't afraid to "report" bad behavior of other kids to their parents. You see, more than any other place in this country, in rural America they believe in doing the right thing, EVEN if it doesn't make you popular.

And yes many people in small town America are Church-goers. They aren't too cynical to say they believe in God, just the way they are not to cynical to say that they live in the best damned country in the world.

That is the problem with Obama, all he talks about is change. He should be thanking God every day for Small Town America, because it is one of the very many things in the United States that should not change.

And Obamalamdingdong thinks this is wrong??

Seriously, Obama is going to be the ruination of America IF he gets elected, Hillary would be less harmful, and that is something I find very difficult to say...

YWL... its not just Obama, it is also all the little minds that seem to infest the Democratic party regardless of who they vote for.

These were the same folk that thought ONLY the "angry white man" was responsible for beating the dems. That ONLY dimwitted redstaters would vote AGAINST their best interest. That those evil rethuglicans and their swiftboat tactics defeated Jean Francois Le Kerry in 2004, never that the boob was just flat unelectable.

Well done sir, and as always, your place is a delightful place to hang my Lid for the nonce.
