Top 10 Non-Political Foreign Policy Statements Made by Democrats
One goal I wake up with every day, is to learn one new thing before I go to sleep. Take yesterday. Yesterday I learned from the Democratic party that politicizing Foreign Policy is a bad thing. Well not for everyone. You see if you are President of the United States and your JOB is running foreign policy ANYTHING you say about the subject is politicizing. But if you are a member of the opposing party NOTHING you say about Foreign Policy is political. Don't you feel better now, like you learned something? Let me show you what I mean. Below are some of my most favorite NON-Political statements that the Democratic Party has made about US Foreign Policy:
- “Of course President Bush would attack the one candidate in this race who opposed his disastrous war in Iraq from the start. But Barack Obama doesn’t need any foreign policy advice from the architect of the worst foreign policy decision in a generation,” Barack Obama through spokesman Bill Burton.
- Even the most powerful nation in the history of the world must bring other nations to our side to meet common dangers. The president's policies do not reflect that. He has pursued a go-it-alone foreign policy that leaves us isolated abroad and that steals resources we need for education and health care here at home. Speaker of the House and Most Powerful Woman in the World, Nancy Pelosi- Democratic Response to the 2004 State of the Union address Jan 20, 2004
- This administration continues to be guided by a misguided and arrogant foreign policy that makes the world more dangerous because it increases the threat of terrorism and erodes international of support for the United States. Senator Ted Kennedy-January 2004
- As soon as I'm elected, I'm going to ask distinguished Americans in both parties to travel around the world on my behalf with a very simple message: The era of cowboy diplomacy is over."Senator Hillary Clinton
- “The facts do not lie. Under the Bush Administration and this Republican Congress, America is less safe, facing greater threats, and unprepared for the dangerous world in which we live. Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid
- "Our paradigm now seems to be: something terrible happened to us on September 11, and that gives us the right to interpret all future events in a way that everyone else in the world must agree with us. And if they don't, they can go straight to hell." Former President William Jefferson Clinton.
- “I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history. The overt reversal of America’s basic values as expressed by previous administrations, including those of George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon and others, has been the most disturbing to me" Former President James Earl Carter.
- "When we walk away from global warming, Kyoto, when we are irresponsibly slow in moving toward AIDS in Africa, when we don't advance and live up to our own rhetoric and standards, we set a terrible message of duplicity and hypocrisy, So we have a crisis of confidence in the Middle East — in the world, really. I've never seen our country as isolated, as much as a sort of international pariah for a number of reasons as it is today." Senator John "Why the Long Face?" Kerry.
- In the wake of the Bush administration's failed experiment with unilateralism, the United States needs once again to construct a foreign policy that is based on reality and loyal to American values. Such a policy must address the challenges of our time with effective actions rather than naive hopes. And it must unite us because it is inspired by the ideals of our nation rather than by the ideology of a president. Bill Richardson, Governor of New Mexico, Former Clinton friend, New Obama friend.
I know what you are thinking. The above comments SOUND political. But the Democrats say they are not, and we all know each of the above politicians are Honorable people right?
1 comment:
There you again, you reactionary right wing nut! Democrats are not being political, they only want the short term success of their party, even if it destroys the country in the long run. That's not political, it's merely unmitigated greed and power lust.
How dare you accuse them of making political statements?!?!?
