Earlier this week the lawyer of murderer Radovan Karadžić, Svetozar Vujačić announced that a special team of legal experts is being assembled to prepare the defence of the genocidal Bosnian Serb leader. The team cam from members of the International Committee for the Truth About Radovan Karadžić (formed in 2001), a panel of lawyers and mainly right-wing public figures whose aim over the past seven years has been to expose the 'political manipulation' behind the indictment of Karadžić. One of these Lawyers is Smilja Avramov, 90 year old expert in international law and proponent of the the Protocols of the Elders of Zion Jovan Byford interviewed Avramov and this lady is frightening. I guess it takes a monster to defend a monster:
In mentioning the Elders of Zion in her book, Avramov essentially repeated one of the major themes of the notorious Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, namely that there is a Jewish group of conspirators whose aim is world domination. Although she suggests that this group was more important and influential in former times – and has since been superseded by other organisations including the Trilateral Commission and the Bilderbergers – she nevertheless asserted that the sinister Elders of Zion are still operating.Read the full story at: One of Karadžić’s defence team believes in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion - Jovan Byford
During our encounter in July 2001, as we sipped expensive whiskey in her living room, I asked Smilja Avramov about the Elders of Zion. I expected her to be cagey and evasive, given that a few months earlier, the appearance of a printed edition of the Protocols in Serbia’s bookshops sparked significant public debate. And yet, to my surprise, Avaramov elaborated on the theme without any visible sign of embarrassment or resistance:J.B: In your book you also mention the Elders of Zion...The professed ignorance about the reasons behind the apparent Jewish ‘Serbophobia’ is interesting because Avramov falls short of attributing the causes directly to a Jewish conspiracy or to the machinations of the Elders of Zion. Nevertheless, the fact that she mentions Jewish ’Serbophobia’ in response to the specific question about the Elders of Zion, indicates that behind the apparent ’anti-Serbian campaign’ initiated by ’Jewish organisations’ she sees the kind of causality characteristic of the most infamous example of the antisemitic conspiracy tradition.
Avramov: Yes.
J.B: ...and you mention that they are no longer...
Avramov: ...no, they are active... I merely said when they were founded. I did not go into the Elders of Zion, but they are... I think that I mentioned it in a single sentence that they are still operating. In fact they are the most secret of all secret organisations, you know... The most interesting thing, which to me is completely unclear, is that these Jewish organisations were in fact terribly Serbophobic. The main anti-Serbian campaign was led by Jewish organisations in America and France. What is the cause of this, I still don’t know...
The reference to the Elders of Zion in the introduction of The Trilateral is not the only instance of antisemitism in Avramov’s work. The aforementioned reference to major ’banking houses’ (Rothschilds? Warburgs?) supposedly bankrolling the Bolshevik Revolution is in itself a coded reference to a Jewish conspiracy common in contemporary antisemitic literature. Also, in the chapter entitled ’Yugoslavia caught in the net of conflicting interests’, Avramov exposes the role of the Vatical in the dissolution of Yugoslavia. The Catholic Church is said to be colluding with the American establishment, in order to destroy ’Orthodox nations’ of Europe. Significantly however, in describing this ‘Holy Alliance’, Avramov did not say that it was forged by the US and the Vatican. Instead she describes it as ‘an unusual, informal, Catholic-Jewish united front’.
Avramov made a similar point during our conversation when she commented on the ‘perfidy of Vatican policy’ in the Balkans, claiming that in orchestrating the war in Bosnia and Kosovo, ‘the Vatican entered a coalition both with Jews [US] and with Muslims [the Arab world], all against Orthodox Christianity’. In both instances, the US establishment is equated with Jews, thus attributing to Jews a key role in the anti-Serbian conspiracy.
