Sarah Palin, Obama's Worst NIGHTMARE

Last night, Sarah Palin changed the game. You can tell by the Democrat's clumsy response--- talk about not getting it. Joe Biden said on Fox this morning "she didn't talk about the middle class." Senator Biden, SHE IS THE MIDDLE CLASS. Everything she said last night was from the OUR perspective the "regular Joes and Janes" who fight through the rat race every day so they can pay off their mortgage, put some food on their table, and try to give their kids a better life than they had. That is the special appeal of Sarah Palin.

Governor Sarah Palin needed to get at least a "single" last night to show that she could play "pro" ball. She delivered a Grand Slam Home Run last night. Palin proved that she was one of us when she blunted the criticism of her family by showing herself as a concerned mom with real love for her family. The Governor showed herself to be a reformer. But I think that the best thing she did all night is that she effectively changed the comparison from McCain vs Obama to PALIN vs Obama. She took the Senator DOWN a notch:

  • “To the families of special needs children all across this country, I have a message: For years, you sought to make America a more welcoming place for your sons and daughters. I pledge to you that if we are elected, you will have a friend and advocate in the White House.” As a parent of two special needs kids, this struck especially close to home. What the Governor did here was show herself as a caring mom, as opposed to what the liberal goon squad (like Sally Quinn) was saying about her.
  • Family. "Todd is a story all by himself. He's a lifelong commercial fisherman ... a production operator in the oil fields of Alaska's North Slope ... a proud member of the United Steel Workers' Union ... and world champion snow machine racer. Throw in his Yup'ik Eskimo ancestry, and it all makes for quite a package. We met in high school, and two decades and five children later he's still my guy." This was so endearing. It was so natural and unforced.
  • Governor Palin the Reformer-While I was at it, I got rid of a few things in the governor's office that I didn't believe our citizens should have to pay for. That luxury jet was over the top. I put it on eBay. I also drive myself to work. And I thought we could muddle through without the governor's personal chef - although I've got to admit that sometimes my kids sure miss her.
  • The Experience Factor, the quality of her speech blunted that criticism toward her, and even more important was the fact that she leveled the criticism at Obama. “I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a ‘community organizer,’ except that you have actual responsibilities.” and "it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform - not even in the state senate." Effectively she turned the argument from McCain vs Obama to PALIN vs Obama.
  • The best Jab of the night also drove home the energy issue. There was so many good ones but my favorite of the night was the all-inclusive " when the stadium lights go out, and those Styrofoam Greek columns are hauled back to some studio lot - what exactly is our opponent's plan? What does he actually seek to accomplish, after he's done turning back the waters and healing the planet? The answer is to make government bigger ... take more of your money ... give you more orders from Washington ... and to reduce the strength of America in a dangerous world. America needs more energy ... our opponent is against producing it.
No Wonder why the Democrats worked so hard to bash Palin. She is their WORST NIGHTMARE.

She absolutely is their worst nightmare. Obama's entire campaign has been based on the platform of CHANGE, which implies 'for the middle class.' Palin hammered home the fact that it's DEMS who keep the middle class and minorities down and the old boy network in place through high taxes, regulations, and ridiculous spending. Then McCain hammered home the education issue tonight and how the government socialist monopoly on education keeps minorities in underfunded ghetto schools and keeps them out of the good ones.

Palin makes the Obamas look like, well, the elitists they are. We all know that Michelle felt like an outsider at Princeton because she was disappointed at the lack of snobbishness to which she had so looked forward. Race had jack to do with it. My dad went to Princeton on a full scholarship. He was the first one in his family to go to college. He showed up in clothes that his mother had made him, right down to his drawers. He never felt like an outsider or anyone's inferior. He was in student government. It was as unelitist as any state school, except with maybe less intellectual and academic relativism, which I don't think was even an issue until the Muslim hordes started arriving in the 70's anyway. And when he came back for his junior year after having served as an officer in Vietnam he got the respect he deserved, even though he was the broke-ass son of a repairman from Kentucky because they recognize integrity at Princeton. That's why Michelle Obama was an outsider: because she was as transparent then as she is now. Being trash has nothing to do with how much money you came from. It has to do with whether you try to appeal to people's better instincts or toward their basest instincts and the lowest common denominator. At least she earned her way into the Ivy League. Affirmative action doesn't even begin to explain Hussein's admission to Harvard Law. Only 5th-Column connections explain that, being that he received horrible grades at a 3rd-rate college.

And Obama's whole 'free college' thing? Who on earth is going to pay for that? And how ghettoized will state universities get as a result of that? Universities get huge endowments from the government on the basis of merit. That's how it should be. Plus, didn't Clinton promise that in '92? State schools are stupid cheap already. China, the Soviet Union, and Cuba never went as far as Hussein Obama wants to go. Plus, check it out: YOU CAN GET A FREE RIDE THROUGH COLLEGE ALREADY. IT'S CALLED THE GI BILL. But you would have to like your country to serve in the military, so of course that never occurred to Obama or any of his 300 terrorist advisors.

That was so tight how Giuliani pointed out that his 300 advisors forgot to tell him that Russia has veto power at the UN Security Council. So did Bill Richardson, who never got that memo either, and he served on the Council.
