Why You MUST NOT ATTEND Monday's ANTI-IRAN RALLY

I have been at every major rally in support of Jewish Issues during the past three years. I have also been at many of the tiny ones where there were 40 of us holding signs in the rain. This Monday I will NOT be going to the United Nations to join the rally against Iranian aggression. I urge you to stay home also. By showing up at the rally we would be teaching the Democratic party and the Obama Campaign that the supporters of Israel can be bullied around. The Jewish groups that are running the rally WERE THREATENED WITH A LOSS OF THEIR TAX EXEMPT STATUS IF THE KEPT PALIN ON THE ROSTER:
The groups sponsoring the rally against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speaking at the UN were reportedly told, "it could jeopardize their tax exempt status" if they had Palin and not Clinton or Democratic VP candidate Joe Biden on hand.

"It's an absolute shame that this has happened," Hikind said. "To threaten organizations … to threaten the Conference of Presidents that if you don't withdraw the invitation to Gov. Palin we're going to look into your tax exempt status … that's McCarthyism (CBS News)
Why is this so serious? On one hand, it shows a total apathy to the cause that we were to be protesting. IF Senator Obama truly cared about a nuclear Iran, Hillary Clinton would not have withdrawn. But even more serious is that the pressure that Obama put on the Jewish organizers is just a dry run of what he want to do to Israel.

Folks, Senator Obama's foreign Policy team is LOADED with people who want to do the same thing to Israel that Obama did to the parade organizers.
Zbigniew Bzrezinski-- Robert O. Malley (still involved) Samantha Power (told the press that she would be involved if she was elected)- Gen. Merrill A. McPeak-- Joseph Cirincione-- and Daniel Kurtzer one of the "Baker's Jew Boys." Baker's Jew Boys" was the nickname of former Secretary of State James " F**K the Jews" Baker's top three middle east advisers, Dennis Ross, Aaron Miller, and Kurtzer. All three were Jews (some would say self-hating) and they helped the Baker-run State Department become the most Anti-Israel Department in my lifetime.

Don't forget How VP Selection Joe Biden threatened to cut of aid to Israel or his other congressional buddies David Bonior and of course Mssrs. Lugar and Hagel.

Along with the Senator Obama's campaign the other group that put on the pressure to remove Palin was J-Street, a group of self-hating Jews who created an organization to counter AIPAC's pro Israel stance (supposedly funded by George Soros).Among the Jew haters on their advisory council Arab funded Lincoln Chafee, Obama adviser Rob Malley, Air America moneyman Shelby Drobman. Pamela of Atlas has a lot more about J-Street here J Street = F U Street, NJDC = KAPO

I would submit to you that the Pressure put on the Jewish Community to take Governor Palin off the Speaker's list is just a precursor of what Senator Obama will do to Israel if (God Forbid) he is elected president. Folks if you care at all for Israel, please do not give credence to this kind of behavior from either political party. PLEASE STAY HOME ON MONDAY !! Don't reward this disgusting behavior by the Obama campaign with your presence.

UPDATE: I have received many comments, Pro and con to my position.
To be honest, I agonized for a few days before I wrote that post urging people to boycott. Ultimately my decision to boycott came down to not wanting to reward bullying behavior. If we teach the Obama campaign that it is easy to push around those who are pro-Israel and we will just blindly follow like nothing happened, if He wins (God Forbid) we will be teaching him what James Baker said about the Jews and the Republican party is true, "F**K the Jews, they won't vote for us anyway." If tomorrows rally is a failure, it will be blamed on Obama and his Democratic Party. Just another chink in the Obama is pro Israel myth. I hope that tomorrow's rally is weak and Thursday's at the Grand Hyatt is robust.

Certainly your passion, your anger and concern come through.

I wonder, though: For Israel, does it make more sense to participte in the rally than to boycott?

I ask because: Doesn't boycott give even more of a victory to the Iranian president than he's already been given by the Democrats and the Jewish organizations that capitulated to that pressure?

BTW: I posted something at American Sentinel yesterday on this: "Jews surrender integrity, Palin to Obamacrat fascists."

It's at: http://theamericansentinel.com/2008/09/18/jews-surrender-to-obamacrat-fascists/.

I see what you are saying, too. If you stay home, the Dems win. If you continue on, forced to do so without the right to invite Palin (and you did make bipartisan invites), then the Dems win.

Perhaps it would make more sense to continue with the rally, because it is important to show you protest Iranian policies - but perhaps you could pass out Sarah Palin buttons to demonstrators - because whether or not they are Democratic or Republican, Sarah Palin accepted an invitation to show support for YOUR cause - the Democrats put their own political posturing before your cause, and threatened you and your cause if you didn't comply.
Don't let the b*****ds keep you down. If you all wore Palin buttons, you win, because Sarah, and what she represents now in contrast to how the Dems treated you, would be at your protest - in spirit =)

I agree with C et al., above.

Go to the rally but stand away from it, across or down the street and protest Iran and the J Street Mob.

I agree: this rally is too tainted politically to send any clear message to Iran.

Rather than boycott the rally, why not contact the IRS and ask them if non-profit groups that take direct orders from the Democratic Party merit tax-exempt status? And let the heads of the organizations that sponsored the rally know that's what you're doing? It might help them grow a spine for the next time, so that they can tell the Democrat pressure groups to pound sand.

I don't think it's fair to blame what happened on Obama. Non-profits are forbidden from engaging in partisan politics, and thus it should be.

If you're going to slander Obama's character, you should examine McCain and how he treats his friends and comrades:

Steve let me explain to you why you are very wrong. I have been at dozens of rallies in my lifetime. Most of them have been for Jewish Issues and sponsored by Jewish Organizations. They have ALL been loaded with politicians. I was even at one where a sanitation commissioner spoke. Politicians at these rallies are the NORM rather than the exception. The Obama camp was very happy when they thought that Hillary would be there, but no McCain representative would be there. They only went crazy when they found out that Palin would be there also. Sorry your argument belies the truth

This makes my stomach churn. My two bits (although I'm too far away to attend) is don't go to Monday rally. What does the U.N. care about American protestors anyway? But the Hyatt, that is the the most important one for several reasons.

First, it's disgusting that supposedly pacifist religious groups are hosting and falling all over each other to break bread with Ahmadinejad. This needs to be protested. It breaks my heart, because these groups use to protect people from slavery in the 1800's, and did a good job in their peaceful way to stand up for what was right.

Now, they're inviting the slave master in.

Also, the Hyatt is a business. It could damage the hotel's reputation to find that people won't put up with them hosting a murderer. The Hyatt in San Diego was boycotted successfully when it was discovered that the owner donated money in support of an anti-same sex marriage amendment.

Honestly, I believe that this a very important moment in time and that the Hyatt is the place to be. My heart will be there with all there in body, and I will be praying for your safety and the world's freedom.

Thankfully most Jews had enough sechel to put politics aside and attend this rally to stand up to this menace.
