Israeli Govt. Answers Hamas Rockets With Same Old Empty Promises

About 70 rockets and mortar shells have been fired at Israel on Wednesday an army spokesman said by telephone, adding that it was the largest assault since a cease-fire with Hamas began in June.

What the news doesn't tell you is that during the six-month"cease-fire" approximately 470 rockets and mortars were sent into Israel.

“Israel has demonstrated great restraint, but this cannot continue,” Mark Regev, a spokesman for Olmert’s office, said by phone.

Boy they Must be quaking in their boots, after all the times that Olmert said Enough is Enough, and he did absolutely nothing. Even when he had the support of the Israeli People, Olmert was the leaning tower of Jell-o.

Until now, Hamas had refrained from firing rockets itself, leaving other Gaza-based factions to take responsibility. Today, it said it fired Grad rockets, which carry more explosives and have a greater range than the homemade Qassams militants usually use.

“Hamas is exploiting the weakness of the Israeli government’s response,” Ashkelon Mayor Benny Vaknin said on Israel Army Radio today. The southern Israeli city, which was hit by two rockets from the Gaza Strip, is home to 110,000 people. “I see no explanation for this weakness,” he said.

David Buskila, mayor of the southern town of Sderot, urged residents to stay indoors and in protected areas.

“This is one of the worst days of escalation,” he said on Army Radio. “We are asking the government to find a way to prove Israel has the ability to protect its sovereignty.”

Defense Minister Ehud Barak is giving the same old "stump speech." Its theme is "this time we are really, truly going to do something about the terror, we really, really mean it this time, I PROMISE !" Unfortunately, he never backs up his words with action. Its Time Ehud...Its TIME.
Defense Minister Ehud Barak vowed Wednesday night to put an end to rocket fire on the western Negev. "We will finish this and bring about a solution to this situation," Barak told the Channel 2 current affairs show 'Mishal Cham.' Barak said he had instructed the IDF and security establishment to prepare for a response to the Gaza rocket fire, which he called "unacceptable."

Refusing to divulge the details of the operation, Barak said,
"I'm in favor of threatening less and doing more." Barak maintained that "the truce lasted four or five months despite certain cabinet ministers saying it wouldn't last four days." He conceded though that in the end, "cracks started to show."
Barak, Olmert and Livni the entire lot of them should be ashamed of themselves. During the last year, from 12/25/07 though 12/24/08 a total of 3003 projectiles have been launched at the Negev from Gaza and those in Power DID NOTHING!!!

And on top of it all, Jimmy Carter, the worst president in the history of America, claims that Hamas and Hezbollah can't defend themselves. He should be arrested along with the three amigos; Livni, Olmert and Barack. The four of them
should be placed in a prison in Sderot and this sign should be erected on the roof,

It was a Hanukkah Miracle - 80 rockets and no injuries!1

Lebanese army officers said troops discovered on Thursday eight Grad and Katyusha-type rockets set up with timers that were on the verge of being launched near the border with Israel. - By another miracle
there were no rockets flying into northern Israel either.
