The President's public nastiness toward Israel is beginning to have results, the Muslim nations are digging in their heels. The New York Times is reporting that Obama will not get any peace process help from the Arab side:
The Arab countries, they say, believe they have already made their best offer and that it is now up to Israel to make a gesture, perhaps by dismantling settlements in the West Bank or committing to a two-state solution.Lets review that "best offer." The Arab States will recognize Israel, but not as a Jewish State, if she goes back to the May 1967 borders, gives up half of its capital, and allows herself to be flooded by over 4 Million Muslims, many of whom have been radicalized. Doesn't sound like a "best offer" to me. If Israel is to make a gesture, it should be the one pictured above.
Based on the pressure the President is putting on Israel, there is optimism in the Muslim world that the US will deliver them Israel on as silver platter. “I think we should hear something positive from President Obama,” said Ahmed Kattaan, the Saudi ambassador to the Arab League. “I think he is going in the right way now.”
The President arrived in Saudi Arabia this morning, this time he did not bow to the King of the repressive Saudi regime but he did give him a nice kiss (on all 4 cheeks).
“The United States and Saudi Arabia have a long history of friendship,” Mr. Obama said, standing alongside King Abdullah, as the two began a series of meetings. “We have a strategic relationship.Saudi Arabia was added to the White House itinerary last week. Administration officials said it would have been diplomatically awkward to be in the region without visiting Saudi Arabia, an important ally. But it was perfectly cool to ignore Israel, another important ally.
He added, “I thought it was very important to come to the place where Islam began and to seek his majesty’s counsel and to discuss with him many of the issues that we confront here in the Middle East.”

I saw the headline on JRants and the perfect gesture popped into my mind. When I visited your site, someone had beat me to it. You.
As usual, excellent post.
A great gesture. I wonder what his reaction would be if he did get it.
