American Voters: Congress Has No Idea What It Is Doing on Economy

Yesterday, Rasmussen reported that 57% of Americans would throw all present members of congress out of their job. Today the research company published a poll giving the reason. Basically Voters do not believe that Congress knows what they are doing.

Two thirds of American voters (67%) do not believe that Congress knows what it’s doing when it comes to the economy. Don't despair congress, 29% are at least somewhat confident in Congressional wisdom on the economy.

As democrats are running the both houses of congress, it is not surprising that 61% of liberals think that Congress knows what it is doing. But most conservatives (89%) and moderates (61%) believe when it comes to the economy the House and Senate are dumb and dumberer.

All of the discussion about Congress not reading the bills they vote on has had an effect on public opinion, only 25% of all voters believe that members of Congress understand legislation before they vote on it 54%  think they do not.

Other recent polling found that just 22% believe Congress has a good understanding of the health care reform legislation currently being considered. Voters tend to think that they understand the legislation better than Congress and about as well as President Obama.
The President's approval ratings continue to slip downward.

By all accounts most Americans hope to Change..the "hope and change" they voted for last November.
