Report Gilad Shalit MAY Be Home by Friday

According to the Saudi Network, al-Arabiya (via Ynet), Gilad Shalit, Kidnapped by Hamas over three years ago, may be coming home as soon as this coming Friday.  It will be a four-stage deal.  Israel will release 450 terrorists, custody of Shalit will be transferred  to  the Egyptian Government. Israel will follow up by releasing the another 650 terrorists and Egypt will transfer Shalit to the Israel.  I assume that means that Hamas believes that one Jewish life is worth 1,000 Arab terrorist lives.

Israel had agreed to release 1,000 prisoners months ago, within the group 450 specific prisoners were demanded by Hamas, 70 of the names were rejected for release by Israel. Even if the deal is approved by the Israeli Government, it could be held up in Court.
The prisoners slated to be freed are defined as "heavy prisoners with blood on their hands", and therefore it is possible that even after the government approves the deal, petitions against the deal would be filed with the High Court of Justice.
Fox is now reporting that Hamas substituted the 70 terrorists that Israel rejected with other names and Israel has approved it:

Exclusive – Fox News has learned that the prisoner exchange deal to release the kidnapped Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit, has taken another important step toward finalizing. However, a source in the Prime Minister’s office says, “This is not a done deal yet.”

The entire prisoner exchange deal involves releasing a total of 1000 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli Jails. The hang up has always been 450 prisoners, specifically named by Hamas. Last week, we reported that Israel rejected 70 of those names. Israel sent the names back to Hamas through German mediators. Negotiators also sent criteria that a new list of names must meet in order for Israel to OK the release of those individuals.

We now can report that Israel received the new list of 70 names and indeed the individuals meet the criteria.

Hamas has already publicly expressed a desire to finalize the prisoner exchange by Friday, in time for the Muslim feast of Eid Al Adha. That way the video of prisoners reuniting with their families amid great celebrations will play on Arab news channels and bolster the popularity of Hamas.

That explains why today Hamas announced an agreement on the part of all Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip to halt the rocket fire. The prisoner exchange deal is close but still very fragile. One rocket strike could cause it to fall apart.
Please join me in praying that the deal is made and Shalit comes home healthy.
