Social Secretary Desiree Rogers, said in an interview with the trade magazine BizBash in June that she had adds extra tables and benches at every event to accommodate party crashers.
When asked what she does with event crashers, Rogers replied (to much laughter), that she's begun adding an extra table, row, or bench to every event she produces, as each time she found extra people would show up in hopes of gaining entrance. "Lots of people just come anyways, they won't take no for an answer," she said. "Finally I just said, 'Alright, come on in, it's no use kicking you out.'" On Thursday the head of the Secret Service, Mark Sullivan, asserted the security breach at last week’s White House state dinner was an aberration and President Barack Obama was never at risk. He also said that the three uniformed officers have been put on administrative leave. Based on Ms Rogers statement, the agents were following established procedure as established by the WH Social Secretary.
Not letting a low level staffer like Rogers testify before Congress also an aberration for any administration. It certainly looks as if the White House is protecting Desiree Rogers, while insisting that the people who are trained to leap in front of the President and take a bullet for him, fall on their swords. It seems like a miscarriage of justice. But then again, Obama is very skilled at doing the wrong thing.
