Time to Retire Congressman Hinchey: His Brain Is Leaking.

I have been avoiding writing about the Senate report that the United States Military let Bin Laden slip through their fingers at Tora Bora for a few reasons.  First of all its old news, we have been hearing this story for at least two years. Additionally elections (and wars) have their consequences, the winners get to write history. While it is accepted that we could have gotten Bin Laden in his Tora Bora cave eight years ago, this report was written by the staffers of highly partisan Senator John "why the long face" Kerry, so the details/reasons surrounding the incident as described in Kerry's report are very suspect.  Finally this was not the only time we "blew" a chance to get the worlds number one criminal.  We could have blew him up to smithereens during the Clinton administration, were it not for some Presidential hesitation. Truth is, it is more important to destroy the terrorist infrastructure around the world than to make Osama Bin Laden a martyr.

Whatever your take on Bin Laden, this claim is so embedded in "crazy town" it will make your head spin. According to Congressman Maurice Hinchey (D-NY), Bush let Bin Laden go ON PURPOSE. This guy is nuts:

Hinchey made the allegation on MSNBC yesterday as he was being interviewed by David Shuster on Monday afternoon.
"Look what happened with regard to our invasion into Afghanistan, how we apparently intentionally let bin Laden get away," he said. "How we intentionally did not follow the Taliban and al-Qaeda as they were escaping. That was done by the previous administration because they knew very well that if they would capture al-Qaeda, there would be no justification for an invasion in Iraq."

Wait a second, you talking about the guy liberals called a Cowboy? Didn't the cowboy say he wanted Bin Laden dead or alive? If the military had gotten Bin Laden in 2001, Bush would have been such a hero, not only would he have been able to justify invading Iraq, he could have justified invading New Jersey.
"They deliberately let Osama bin Laden get away?" askedShuster. "They deliberately let the head of al-Qaeda get away right after he, right after the 9/11 attacks? You really believe that?"

"Yes, I do," Hinchey replied. "There's no question about that. The leader of the military operation in the United States called back our military, called them back from going after the head of al-Qaeda because there was a sense that they didn't want to capture him."

"To suggest that they deliberately let Osama bin Laden get away so they could invade Iraq, that will strike a lot of people as crazy," said Shuster.
"I don't think it will strike a lot of people as crazy," Hinchey said. "I think it will strike a lot of people as very accurate and all you have to do is look at the facts of that set of circumstances and you can see that's exactly what happened. When we went in there, when our military went in there, we could have captured them. We could have captured most of the Taliban and we could have captured the al-Qaeda. But we didn't, and we didn't because of the need felt by the previous administration and the previous head of the military -- that need to attack Iraq, which is completely unjustified."

Sorry Congressman, it DOES strike a lot of people as crazy. So crazy, in fact that fellow Democrat, Governor Paterson called, he asked that you stop saying what state you are from, its very bad for buisness.

Voters in the 22 congressional district of New York that state which cannot be named , allow me to suggest that it is time to retire Congressman Hinchey so he can no longer embarrass himself in public. Maybe he is leaking brain fluid resulting in his diminished capacity. The guy lives near Woodstock, maybe he took one to many acid trips back in the 1960s, either way the congressman should be retired to a nice life of spending his days in his PJs, taking lots of medication and going to sleep early, right after he watches the Lucy Show.

Video proof of the Congressman's mental deterioration follows (video h/t Hot Air):
