Why Wont CAIR Wont Talk About Board Member Deported For Hamas Ties?

Nabil Sadoun, former member of the national CAIR board and chair of CAIR-Texas, helped found the United Association for Studies and Research (UASR). While there has been no criminal prosecution of the UASR, Sadoun founded it along with Mousa Abu Marzook, an admitted Hamas leader Internal records show the UASR was a founding member of the Muslim Brotherhood's Palestine Committee in America. Federal prosecutors say that committee's "designed purpose was to support Hamas." Sadoun also co-founded the Muslim American Youth Association. MAYA's conferences, many of which it co-sponsored with IAP, have long supported Hamas.

Last fall, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents issued Sadoun a notice to appear before an immigration court on charges of violating immigration laws and forgetting to mention his association with HAMAS on his application for an immigrant visa in 1993.

Friday was the hearing day, but Sadoun  didn't show up, he had already seen the writing on the wall and left the country.

During the hearing Judge Anthony Rogers said Sadoun "made a decision to leave the U.S." and forfeited his right to fight his deportation. He said the decision was final and could not be appealed.  He also referenced the government's large brief in the motion to deport him, including involvement with Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. The judge ruled Sadoun lied on government forms when he denied he was a member.(source)

Brooks Egerton of the Dallas Morning News tried to get a statement from CAIR but he was rebuffed, which is strange because I sometimes get two press releases a day from this Hamas-associated organization, usually to condemn someone being arrested for some sort of terrorism-related infraction or to blame something on racial profiling.

For Example right after the Christmas Day underwear bomber terrorist attack, the TSA made this announcement:
Beginning at 12:00 AM this morning, anyone traveling from or through nations regarded as state sponsors of terrorism — as well as "other countries of interest" — will be required to go through enhanced screening techniques before boarding flights. The Transportation Security Administration said those heightened security measures would include full-body pat-downs, carryon bag searches, full-body scanning and explosive detection technology. The U.S. State Department lists Cuba, Iran, Sudan and Syria as state sponsors of terrorism. The other countries whose passengers will face enhanced screening include Afghanistan, Algeria, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia and Yemen.
CAIR made a big fuss over the new TSA rules saying  the  TSA policy was akin to ethnic/ religious profiling.

So when Egerton Called CAIR
Recently, for example, it denounced the introduction of full-body scanners in airports as a violation of Islamic rules about modesty. Its Web site carries many press releases on a variety of civil rights issues.
But CAIR has been quiet about the recent deportation order against Richardson resident Nabil Sadoun, a longtime member of the group's national and DFW chapter boards.
When I asked national CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper for an interview, he responded with this e-mail: "Peace. Perhaps speak to his attorney. She is the best source of information on the case." Hooper did not respond when I followed up with written questions about CAIR's view of the deportation case and its relationship with Sadoun.

Sadoun's attorney, Kimberly Kinser of Richardson, didn't respond to my phone call and e-mail.
....Former leaders of UASR include a top Hamas official, Mousa Abu Marzook, who is wanted on terrorism charges in the U.S. and believed to be in Syria; and Abdurahman Alamoudi, who is imprisoned in this country on a 2004 terrorism financing conviction related to a Libyan plot to assassinate Saudi Arabia's crown prince.

Federal prosecutors named UASR and CAIR as unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing case. Leaders of that defunct Richardson foundation were convicted in 2008 of aiding Hamas.
I guess CAIR does not like to talk when another one of their leaders get nailed for helping terrorists.  They should be used to it, after all it happens so often.
