Originally announced by the Atlantic and just confirmed by the AP, Bart Stupak will announce his retirement in a few hours for that proverbial "I want to spend more time with my family." He plans to announce his decision at a 12:30 p.m. news conference at Northern Michigan University in Marquette.
Earlier this week we reported on the rumors that Congressman Bart Stupak was about to retire. The man who stood his ground against abortion in Obamacare and then called folded for an empty promise and $750,000 to local airports is considering throwing in the towel. Word is (according to MSNBC) that the guy is simply exhausted. The criticism he received, first from the left, and then from the right -- has worn him and his family out (and the worst part is he did it all for nothing). According to sources what delayed is decision is senior Democrats tried to into running.
Stupak's legacy will be that he almost made a courageous stand against Abortion. Unfortunately almost counts in horse shoes, not in morality. His lack of a spinal cord made him the target of both the right and left.
Hey I wonder if he gets to keep his health care?
More to come.

almost also counts in hand grenades. Stupak's resignation is because his "almost" was like pulling the pin on a hand grenade and then forgetting to throw it.
One marvels and wonders at the Stupak collapse... I speculate maybe he got a call that Sunday from Rham... "We have the pictures and the text messages Bart"!!!
Just wunderin'?????
