It was a set up. This time the flotilla organizers wanted violence and they were going to attack the IDF to make sure they go it.
Every few months, a flotila of boats head toward Gaza with the purpose of convincing the world press that Israel is the evil empire. Usually what happens is Israel stops the boats, directs them to an Israeli port,and Israel delivers the aid though a land route (once it was checked for weapons). Israel has a convoy delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza on a daily basis. In fact Israel transfers about 15,000 tons of supplies and humanitarian aid every week to the people of Gaza.
This time,the entire flotilla was designed as a different kind of media stunt. One boat was sponsored by a violent, extremist group which supports terrorist organizations under the guise of humanitarian activity, called the IHH. The IHH set up their boat as an violent ambush, in order to create a sick "propaganda effort" against Israel. They even brought kids on the boat to act as human shields.
As the boat left Turkey, the passengers were chanting :
Intifada, intifada, intifada!
Khaybar, Khaybar, oh Jews! The army of Mohammed will return!
And this is how it ended up:
At least 10 people were killed and 50 were injured early Monday as the Israeli Navy took over the ships taking part in the aid sail to Gaza, Arab and Turkish media reported.
The IDF reported that six soldiers were injured during the takeover from live ammunition and knife stabbing. Two of the troops was said to be in serious condition and the others in light to moderate condition. The injured were evacuated to the Chaim Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer by helicopter.
According to an IDF source, "The sail's participants were not innocent and used violence against the soldiers. They were waiting for the forces' arrival."The mainstream media (and the Arab propagandists) are using the incident to come up with some of their best examples of creative writing with little connection to reality.

Israel approached the organizers of the flotilla – prior to their departure and late, while at sea – and invited them to dock at the Port of Ashdod for the sake of transferring their cargo to Gaza, subject to security inspection. The organizers refused.
While boarding the vessel controlled by the IHH, IDF soldiers were physically attacked with live ammunition and other weapons, including knives and clubs, which had been prepared in advance. A weapon belonging to one of soldiers was snatched and, apparently, fired on IDF forces.

During the course of the incident, when their lives were put in danger, IDF soldiers were compelled to employ means to disperse demonstrations, including live weapons. Here we have an Israeli Navy personnel stabbed by one of those "humanitarian aid peace workers."
Initial reports indicate that about 10 flotilla participants were killed, and others injured, during the course of events. Seven Israeli naval officers were also wounded. All the injured were evacuated to hospitals. Israeli Minister Danny Ayalon said "Weapons found on board; the organizers intent was violent, their method was violent and the result was, unfortunately violent"
Was it a set up, earlier this week things were foreshadowed by Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said who said, "If the ships reach Gaza it is a victory; if they are intercepted, it will be a victory too"; Hamas is responsible for the suffering of both Palestinians and Israelis.
