Obama Ignores Own Advice-Calls Grass Roots Protesters "Tea-Baggers"

This past weekend President Obama lectured students at the University of Michigan about keeping the political discussion civil:
But we can’t expect to solve our problems if all we do is tear each other down. You can disagree with a certain policy without demonizing the person who espouses it. You can question somebody’s views and their judgment without questioning their motives or their patriotism.  Throwing around phrases like “socialists” and “Soviet-style takeover” and “fascist” and “right-wing nut” -- that may grab headlines, but it also has the effect of comparing our government, our political opponents, to authoritarian, even murderous regimes.
Today we learned that what the President really meant, be nice to the liberals but not necessarily everyone else.

Jake Tapper is reporting that in Jonathan Alter’s upcoming book “The Promise: President Obama, Year One,” President Obama is quoted in an November 30, 2009, interview saying that the unanimous vote of House Republicans vote against the stimulus bills “set the tenor for the whole year ... That helped to create the tea-baggers and empowered that whole wing of the Republican Party to where it now controls the agenda for the Republicans.”

What happened to, "we can’t expect to solve our problems if all we do is tear each other down?" Not only is tea bagger a sexual reference, it is used a a pejorative term by the liberals to try and slander those grass roots American who protested against the Obama policies. Was the president trying to be nasty or was he just trying to make a teenage-type joke, trying to be funny by using gutter language and sexual innuendo. Is the POTUS going to make "snot" jokes next?

President Obama has NO right to lecture people on being civil. You can disagree with a certain policy without demonizing the person who espouses it, does not hold water when you call a group of Grass-Roots Americans by a sexual term. Shame on you Mr. President.

I also noticed that Mayor for Life Mike Bloomberg, after he learned that the Times Square Bomber was not in fact a homegrown White Guy "Tea-Bagger" angry at the Health Care Bill, but rather a Muslim of Pakistani origin, said the following:

"We will not tolerate any bias or backlash against Pakistani or Muslim New Yorkers."

Oh, really, now ain't that nice Mike? Lemme guess: Oh yeah, your comment on Katie Couric's show was taken out of context RIGHT?

JERK!
