The latest Rasmussen polls reflect good news all around for the Grand Old Party. In Florida Marco Rubio increased his lead in a three way race if Kendrick Meek is the Democratic party nominee and shaved the gap with Christ if Jeff Green is the nominee. Also announced today is American voters are rejecting the progressive policies of President Obama at a greater level than ever before, possibly because by a wide margin they feel the progressive Democratic Party Agenda is radical.
In Florida the latest Rasmussen poll of Likely Voters shows Rubio with 38% of the vote and Crist at 33% if Congressman Kendrick Meek is the nominee. Meek earns 21%. Last month Rubio held a 2% 35 to 33% lead showing that Rubio's popularity is growing and Crist is stagnant.
Should Jeff Greene become the Democratic Party nominee, Crist gets 37% support to Rubio’s 36%, with Greene trailing at 20%. Last month Crist had a two point 36 to 34% lead.
The difference in the polls right now is that Democratic Party voters are not as comfortable with Jeff Greene as they are with Kendrick Meek. If Green is the nominee he is projected to get 44% of the Democratic Party vote vs 42% for Crist. However as it stands now if Meek is the nominee he will get 48% of the vote vs. Crist's 36%.
The underlying numbers for Rubio are a mixed bag, Crist's favorable numbers are higher (58%) than Rubio's (46%). On the positive side those numbers are closer than they were a month ago when Crist had 59 to 42% lead. Even more significant is the fact that the excitement surrounding Crist is diminishing as Rubio's is increasing. Last month 24% of voters had very favorable opinions of Crist and only 20% had very favorable opinions about Marco Rubio. This month Rubio jumped to a 25% very favorable rating while Crist fell to 16%.
President Obama's favorable rating in Florida fell from 47% to 44% during the same period and his favorable index fell from a -29 to a -31, both numbers are significantly lower than the rest of the country, which could be helping Rubio.
Nationally, Obama approvals fell again today to the point where they matched all-time-lows. The Rasmussen daily Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 24% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the job Barack Obama is doing as president, 46% Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -22.
Americans feel that the progressive agenda of the Democratic Party is extreme. 57% say that the agenda of the ruling party is extreme while only 40% feel that the Republican agenda is outside the norm. Amongst independents the margin is even wider, 73% of independents feel the Democratic Party is extreme while only 38% feel the same way about the Republicans.
Obviously this is only a point in time snap shot, there is still a long way to go before November, but it does seem that Americans in Florida and Nationwide are wising up about the the harm that a progressive agenda is doing to the US.
