New Rassmussen Poll Says Americans Want to Throw All The Bums Out

It was John Adams who said, "In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress." According to the latest Rasmussen poll most Americans agree with the second President. In fact 65% of likely voters say if they had that option they would throw out the entire congress on election day and start all over. Only 20% would opt to keep the entire Congress instead. Fifteen percent (15%) aren’t sure.

As you would expect 82% of Republicans want to throw out the Congressional babies withe the bath water. But  78% of the key group, independents say throw all the bums out. Interestingly even 38% of Democrats want them all out.

This may point to the fact while this mid-term election next Tuesday will see many new Republicans taking office, it is not an endorsement of a political party, its all about issues. Lower taxes, cut government spending,  repeal health care, etc.

Thirty-eight percent (38%) of all voters have a favorable opinion of the Democratic Party after its two years of controlling both the White House and Congress. But 53% view the Democrats unfavorably.

As for the party out of power but knocking on the door, just 29% view Republicans favorably, while 54% hold an unfavorable opinion of them.
Only 61% of Republicans have a favorable opinion of the GOP, again indicative of a suspicion that the GOP leadership may not follow through on the important promises made during the election, like they did in the early part of this century.

Twenty percent (20%) of voters nationwide now say they are members of the Tea Party, with another 10% who say they aren’t members but have friends or family members who are. Sixty-one percent (61%) say they have no ties to the grass roots movement. Perhaps it’s no surprise that 88% of Tea Party members would choose to dump the entire Congress, but 57% of non-members agree with them.

Ninety-one percent (91%) of Tea Party members view the Democratic Party unfavorably, but only 56% hold a favorable opinion of the GOP.
This should be a message to the GOP leadership, while in probability they will be taking control of the House of Representatives, and at the very least a stronger position in the Senate, people are not voting for the GOP they are voting for liberty. They are being sent to the District of Columbia to free up the marketplace so it can generate jobs, by shrinking government and preventing the further implementation of the progressive agenda.  Should they fail, or compromise on those issues their fortunes will go down hill quickly.
