According to Ancestry.com both Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh have a rotten apple on their family tree, President Barack Obama. Additionally, when President Obama blames everything on President Bush, he placing the blame on a family member at least according research conducted by the website.
Ancestry found that the President and Ms Palin are 10th cousins through common ancestor John Smith a 17th Century Massachusetts Pastor who fought for equal rights for Quakers . Obama and Limbaugh, are also 10th cousins once removed via common ancestor Richmond Terrell, a Virginia settler who arrived in America in the mid-17th century.
This isn't the first time that Ancestry.com has discovered unexpected relatives of politicians. Previously they discovered that Obama was the related to Warren Buffett (7th cousins three times removed) and Brad Pitt (9th Cousins) and Dick Cheney. Sarah Palin has family ties to Harry Reid, Ann Coulter, FDR, Princess Di, and President Bush.
Ancestry.com researchers also discovered that Palin, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and conservative author Ann Coulter are also cousins through Englishman John Lathrop, who was exiled to the United States for becoming a minister of an illegal independent church.
But the connections don’t end there. Obama, Palin and former President George W. Bush are also related. Obama and Bush, who both reached the highest office in the land, are 11th cousins through common ancestor Samuel Hinckley. Palin and Bush, who are also 11th cousins, are also related through Hinckley. Apparently leadership runs in the family, since Hinckley’s son, Thomas, went on to become governor of Plymouth Colony.
“We have all watched the heated media coverage as the leadership of Congress is at stake in this very contentious upcoming November election,” said Anastasia Tyler, a genealogist at Ancestry.com. “It is not unusual, however, to find family members on different ends of the political spectrum. This election season is an ideal time to look into the family trees of our candidates and their critics to learn more about the ties that make them all part of this great country.”
An Englishman called John Lathrop, exiled to the United States for becoming a minister of an illegal independent church, was cited as the common link between Mrs Palin, Senator Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader, and Ann Coulter, a conservative author.In a related story, Rush Limbaugh has announced there is no truth to the rumor that he is taking the rest of the week off to dig up and burn his family tree.
Mr Obama is apparently an 11th cousin of former president, George W. Bush, through common ancestor Samuel Hinckley.

Hilarious. Yea, our government is what happens when cousins marry.
There was an article in The Atlantic Monthly sever years ago called "The Royal We," [May 2002 at http://www.theatlantic.com/past/docs/issues/2002/05/olson.htm] which reported evidence that everybody alive today is descended from everybody who was alive a thousand years ago. Obviously, that can't be literally true, since some lines die out, so I think it's a statistical analysis, but if it's right, it means we're all related to each other if we go back far enough.
If we go back to the eruption of Mount Toba in Indonesia, I believe 70,000 years ago, all but a few thousand humans on earth died out. So anybody alive today is probably related to everybody else descended from those who survived that near extinction.
Personally, I believe that we all have the blood of Israel, maybe even of Judah, in dilute amounts.
