Saudis VERY Unhappy With Obama...Expanding Friendship With China And Russia

The summer before the election Obama took a European tour where the heads of State fawned over the future President. The future President promised that was that he was going to "repair" our relationship with Europe "damaged" after eight years of that "cowboy" George "W" Bush.

In Germany, tens of thousands of Germans turned out to listen to candidate Obama speak in front of Adolf Hitler's favorite monument, the Victory Column. And his campaign assured us the Rock concert that preceded his speech had nothing to do with the attendance, in Germany Barack Obama was as big a star as David Hasselhoff.

After he was inaugurated, President Obama did his best to diss our allies in Europe. There was that famous "non joint press conference" when Gordon Brown came to visit, and his refusal of Nicolas Sarkozy's offer to share a meal when Obama was a guest in the country. For the first time in decades France has a Pro-US President, but our relationship with France has regressed. Obama's economic battles with German Chancellor Angela Merkel are well recorded. The German magazine Der Spiegel even wrote an article wondering if Merkel and Obama were frienemies.

It's not all bad, Israel still loves the United States even though she knows that our President is no fan of the Jewish State, and Saudi Arabia, well how can they not love Barack Obama, he has done so much out reach to the Muslim world.

Well, er, no not Saudi Arabia either.  At least not according to Tom Brokaw (who is no fan of conservative politics).

Reporting from Iraq yesterday,  Brokaw said the Saudi Arabian monarchy is

“so unhappy with the Obama administration for the way it pushed out President Mubarak of Egypt” that it has sent senior officials to the Peoples' Republic of China and Russia to seek expanded business opportunities with those countries.
But wait, I thought everybody loves Obama as much as they hated George W. Bush.

“And a lot of those questions presumably will come from King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia,” reported Brokaw on the Nightly News. “I was told on the way in here that the Saudis are so unhappy with the Obama administration for the way it pushed out President Mubarak of Egypt that it sent high level emissaries to China and Russia to tell those two countries that Saudi Arabia now is prepared to do more business with them.”

Brokaw continued, “Back here in Iraq, the political and the economic situation remains fragile. So fragile that the U.N. secretary general is worried that this country could now see massive protests in the streets once again.”

Going to the Russians and Chinese?  That can't be good, after all the Chinese already owns much of our debt, and the Russians are becoming a major oil producer, something the United States can't do because....well because Obama won't let us.

But there is a bright side, our relationship with the Saudi's is still better than during the last administration...wasn't it?

..Maybe Not.
