Second Wives,Tax Returns and Skeletons in the MSM's Closets

Unless you were stuck in a cave yesterday, you probably heard about the big Drudge scoop regarding Newt Gingrich's second wife giving an explosive interview to ABC News.

Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single interview. Earlier this week, she sat before ABCNEWS cameras, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.  She spoke to ABCNEWS reporter Brian Ross for two hours, and her explosive revelations are set to rock the trail.

But now a "civil war" has erupted inside of the network, an insider claims, on exactly when the confession will air!

ABCNEWS suits determined it would be "unethical" to run the Marianne Gingrich interview so close to the South Carolina Primary, a curious decision, one insider argued, since the network has aggressively been reporting on other candidates.

A decision was tentatively made to air the interview next Monday, after all votes have been counted.

For those of you keeping score at home, Marianne Gingrich was the home-wrecker who broke up Newt's first marriage before his present wife helped to wreck that marriage.

This may anger some  social conservatives, but I couldn't give a rat's arse about Newt Gingrich's second marriage. Last time I checked he was running for president of the United States, not for husband. Besides this is nothing new Gingrich already admitted he used to be a creep, claiming he has learned from his mistakes and is now a better person.

The real scandal is not about Newt Gingrich and/or his three marriages, nor is it about Mitt Romney's tax returns--none of these questions are about whether or not these two (or any of the) candidates are the best choice to head up the GOP ticket in 2012.

There is a scandal related to the ABC interview we should be asking. Why is the press working so hard to find and expose skeletons in the GOP candidates’ closets when they still haven't bothered to look inside Barack Obama's closet?

Why are they demanding to see Mitt Romney's tax returns? They never reported on the hypr0crisy seen in Joe Biden's return. He preaches about the GOP not caring about poor people, but has had a little difficulty sharing his own earnings to charity. Why do they report Warren Buffet calling for the wealthy to pay more taxes, but ignore the fact that Berkshire Hathaway owes more than a billion dollars to the IRS?

If the press thinks Newt Gingrich's second marriage two decades ago is relevant to this campaign,  why don't they think the fact that Obama ran on a socialist party line 1996 is important?

If the press wants to investigate a candidate, why not get to the bottom of a president who campaigned for “open government” and “full disclosure” will not share his school records his Harvard records, his Columbia College records, or his Occidental College records? Why haven't the MSM investigated why Obama legislative and scheduling records from the Illinois State Senate are missing? They have had five years to look into it!

Why not send a reporter to investigate how Barack Obama sat in Jeremiah Wright's Church but never heard anything controversial? Or investigate what President Obama said in that toast to former PLO spokesman Rashid Khalidi? There was a video made of the toast, but the LA Times refuses to release it.

If they want to investigate divorces, why not look at DNCC Chair Steve Israel? His record on marriages is very similar to that of Newt Gingrich's.  And now that his second marriage is breaking up, doesn't anyone in the press want to know why the divorce records have been sealed? It’s not because the Congressman and Judge Marlene Budd have children. Is there a scandal in there somewhere?  Many locals say yes, but even Newsday, the local paper has refused to look into it.

And while we are at it, the MSM is quick to point out who is donating money to the GOP candidates where are the reports about Israel, who is the DNCC chair,  taking donations from a man who spent time in prison for smuggling weapons to Iran?

The Mainstream media is quick to point out that Mitt Romney is wealthy.  Why don't they point out Nancy Pelosi's wealth?  If Romney practices "vulture" capitalism, what about Pelosi's "crony" capitalism? Why doesn’t the media care about the fact that Obama's big donors always seem to get government loans? Why don't they care about the fact that Obama has regular meetings with union bosses but not with leaders of the opposition party?

The answer to all of these questions is the same. The mainstream media hasn't cared about journalism for a very long time. Their only concern is electing progressives. Everybody famous or not, has scandals in their closet. The real scandal however, is the mainstream media only looks under the rocks on the GOP side of the fence and in most cases the "scandals" they find have nothing to do with the fact that this great nation is going to hell in a hand basket and voters are trying to select the person who will best lead us back on to the right path.
