MJ Rosenberg's Scumbag Reaction To the Death Of Netanyahu's Dad

In order to understand where someone may be heading, sometimes it makes sense to understand where they came from.  With most people you can see the roots put down by their parents in what they do, and it is no different with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. You can see the influence of his dad in some of the things he does.

Benzion Netanyahu, Bibi's dad was a noted scholar of the history of Jews in Spain.  He knows deeply the horrors that tends to happen to Jews when they don't have their own state.

Benzion learned the "Zionist ropes" as an assistant to the Zionist philosopher Zeev Jabotinsky. And in Jabotinsky you can see one of the key reasons why you hear Bibi insist on the recognition for Israel as a Jewish State that has never come from the Palestinians.

It is incredible what political simpletons Jews are. They shut their eyes to one of the most elementary rules of life, that you must not "meet halfway" those who do not want to meet you.

--Ze'ev Jabotinsky, The Iron Wall November 4, 1923
During the 1940s, the elder Netanyahu was one of the few who had warned about the Holocaust , and after the horrors became apparent, he stood firm in demanding that the Holocaust refugees should be directed to the land of Israel. The senior Netanyahu brought his family to Israel with a strong sense of history and a strong sense that only through a strong Israel will the Jewish people ever totally be safe.

If you think politics in the United States can be nasty, its "kid stuff" compared to Israeli politics, yet a number of Israeli opposition parties, among them Labor, Meretz and National Union withdrew their no-confidence votes in the Knesset, out of respect for the prime minister in mourning.

At the same time, as the news of Benzion Netanyahu's death began to spread, MJ Rosenberg crawled out from under the rock he had been living in since his dismissal Media Matters to tweet:

MJ Rosenberg claims he is a Jew, but he doesn't act like one.

The Torah teaches us that one of the most important things we can do is comfort mourners.  This doesn't mean he has to send Bibi a condolence card, but I would suggest that it means he shouldn't dance on the grave of someone's dad on the day he dies.

But then again, why would I expect an anti-Semitic Jew to have the slightest bit of humanity.

I wonder how people will react when MJ Rosenberg passes?  I wonder how his maker will react when his time has come? Jews don't believe in an eternal damnation-type "hell," but perhaps God will make and exception for a "man" who trashes the newly dead (and tries to increase the hatred against his own people).

As for Israeli Prime Minster Netanyahu and all of Benzion Netanuyahu's mourners I pray:
HaMakom yenachem et'chem b'toch shar avay'lay Tzion vee'Yerushalayim.

May God comfort you among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

I would like to see a nice story about Benzion Netanyahu. He was an amazing man who worked hard as a historian to put being Jewish into perspective. His sons are also certainly highlights of his life.

It saddens me that no one is posting a celebration of Benzion Netanyahu's life. As a Jewish man, you should appreciate the work that he did to change the conversation about Jews and the Inquisition. What he did to keep the conversation of being Jewish alive and open. The loss of his son during Entebbe should be noted and his guidance for Benjamin.
