The highest officer of law and order in this nation has been ridiculed, scapegoated and handled as some sort of criminal throughout this 'investigation.' Turning over thousands of documents and overextending himself, AG Holder was spoken to and mistreated as if he were a child, and reminded that despite his esteemed position, he can and would be profiled. AG Holder was in essence 'stopped & frisked' without probable cause, and after he cooperated, he was made an example of. What Issa just showed us is that no matter what our stature in this world, someone can easily try to 'put us in our place.' What could be more outrageous? He cooperated? When? Brian Terry's family has been looking for answers for almost two years and the only thing they got from the "Justice" Department was lies and runarounds.
First things first, let's remember that Fast and Furious was created under the Bush Administration. While Republicans are busy denouncing the practice for its flaws, they fail to mention that AG Holder was the one who ended the program.Lets answer that charge clinically. Liar, Liar Pants on fire. In fact today, Senator Grassley released a letter from Holder saying there was no connection between a program which the Bush Administration ran called wide receiver (done in connection with the Mexican Government) and Fast and Furious.
Look at the truth Al-- On Feb. 4, 2011, Assistant Attorney General Ronald Weich sent a letter to Congress insisting that any allegation that the “ATF ‘sanctioned’ or otherwise knowingly allowed the sale of assault weapons to a straw purchaser who then transported them to Mexico -- is false.” Holder repeatedly stated that he and other top officials had no knowledge of the gunwalking operations until after Terry’s death. That's when he "stopped the program."
Of course whistle- blowers, supported by documents leaked to them by a U.S. attorney told the news media and Congress that agency officials were fully aware that straw buyers were moving guns into Mexico---oopsies. In December the department formally the Feb. 4 letter, and Holder lamely told Congress that the officials responsible for the false claims “did not know at the time that the information that they provided was inaccurate.”
And Sharpton supports this "telling of tales?"
Since the so-called investigation (a.k.a. witch hunt) began, the Justice Department has handed over more than 140,000 documents, 7,600 pages and participated in 8 hearings before Congress. Not only did Issa and his counterparts never go after previous attorneys general or the Bush Administration itself, but they continue to treat AG Holder as if he is indeed guilty of the most egregious crime. It is the same sort of tactic we see utilized against the hundreds of thousands of innocent individuals stopped and searched by police. They have no weapon, haven't committed an offense, yet somehow 'appear' as a culprit.
As I marched this past Sunday with tens of thousands in New York in opposition to the abhorrent practice of stop & frisk,' I couldn't help but think of our attorney general. Tattered down and publicly humiliated, AG Holder has been mishandled just like the young Black and Latino men (and women) who are demonized on our streets everyday. Chris Matthews of Hardball on MSNBC concurred: AG Holder is being profiled, stopped and searched. Where was Issa's government reform when the ATF gun program began in '06 under the Bush Administration and was called Operation Wide Receiver? Or when it was the Hernandez case in '07? Or the Mendrano case in '08? Why hasn't anyone from the previous administration been held accountable? Why is it only this AG a few months before election time? The answer is glaringly obvious.Yep...those Dammned Racists!! And tell me Mr. Sharpton did you know that those 7,600 pages the committee revived was about five percent of what they asked for? Do you know that most of the documents turned over were so redacted that they looked like they were dipped in black paint? (Can I say black paint?
And who the Hell is Al Sharpton to talk about witch hunts? His career was all about witch hunts.
Crown Heights was an Al Sharpton witch hunt. He continued to fan the flames of violence with lies and attacks during the course of the pogrom (A full account of the Crown Heights Pogrom can be found here).
Angelina Marrero . . . Cynthia Martinez . . . Luz Ramos . . . Mayra Rentas . . . Olga Garcia . . . Garnette Ramautar . . . Kareem Brunner their names will forever be remembered as the seven victims of the massacre at Freddy's Fashion Mart which can be traced to the anti-Semitic incitement of one man.. the faux Reverend Al Sharpton.
What about the witch hunt he lead regarding Tawana Brawley. Sharpton never apologized for the Tawana Brawley affair or slandering DA Pagones by with the unfounded charge that Pagones was the rapist,
“I did what I believed….They are asking me to grovel. They want black children to say they forced a black man coming out of the hard-core ghetto to his knees….Once you begin bending, it’s ‘did you bend today?’ or ‘I missed the apology, say it again.’ Once you start compromising, you lose respect for yourself.”Then there was the witch hunt he lead during the "Central Park Jogger" case when he claimed she was raped by her boyfriend and leading demonstrations calling the woman who was raped and beaten to within a hair of death a whore.
No Al Sharpton has no right to use the term witch hunt...as he is a professional in the field.

Awesome post. If hate crime legislation were a real thing, and not the joke it is, Al Sharpton would be broadcasting from cell block 6.
If I'm Romney's campaign manager, every other attack ad is filled with Holder's misdeeds and the tag line "Obama's Idea Of Justice."
Keep up the good work, man.
