Ohio Democratic Senator Using Antisemitism To Attack Jewish Opponent

“From time immemorial…the Jews have known better than any others how falsehood and calumny can be exploited. Is not their very existence founded on one big lie?
-Adolf Hitler Mein Kampf
Josh Mandel, The Candidate of the Big Lie- Sherrod Brown Democratic Candidate For Senator from Ohio

On first glance one would suspect that Senator Brown's use of the term "the big lie" against his Jewish opponent was an innocent, albeit insensitive mistake.  But this Senator has a history of inappropriately exploiting Nazi imagery to make a political point. For example in a prepared speech given on the U.S. Senate floor, he compared Republican governors John Kasich, Scott Walker and Chris Christie to Hitler for their union reforms.

Liberal super PAC American Bridge for the 21st Century, founded by Media Matters' David Brock started to run Josh Mandel in the Politico before Mandel even formally announced his run for U.S. Senate. His crime? He accepted a  $1,000 donation from Rich Iott:
“Rich Iott, the Nazi reenactor who ran unsuccessfully for Congress, donated $1,000 to Josh Mandel?s Ohio Senate campaign, according to the Republican?s campaign finance filing provided to POLITICO by the Democratic group American Bridge.”
This is the same David Brock who hired MJ Rosenberg for his Media Matters to be his in-house Anti-Semite. The same guy who's Eric Boehlert wrote that I was a Jew-Basher. This is the same Media Matters with a long history of publishing anti-Semitic commentary. Media Matters was even called out by the Simon Wiesenthal Center for its anti-Semitic rhetoric.

Talk about the teapot calling the kettle black!

What is Brock inferring with the Rich Lott mess? It's easy, the Media Matters hit-man is inferring that Josh Mandel, who is not only a M.O.T. (member of the tribes-Jewish) but an active member of AIPAC, is somehow weak when it comes to the Holocaust. In February 2009, during Operation Cast Lead, the Israeli government issued a statement thanking Mandel for his support of the operation.

Brock's SuperPAC even created a 12-Days of Christmas parody which said in part:
Taking cash from Nazis: For some reason, Ohio State Treasurer and Senate candidate Josh Mandel thought it would be a good idea to take a $1000 contribution from Rich Iott, a former congressional candidate and Nazi reenactor. Even after Bridge researchers unearthed the donation and the media confronted Mandel with the information, he stubbornly refused to return the money. He then continued to ignore calls from progressive and Jewish organizations to give it back.
Gee Whiz,  doesn't that put YOU in the holiday spirit?

Brown is not the most supportive candidate when it comes to Israel.
Brown had a fundraiser in May 2012 hosted by rabidly-anti-Israel actor Martin Sheen, who funds the Office of the Americas, a group that consistently attacks the United States and Israel. Sheen has been arrested outside the Israeli Defense Ministry offices when he demonstrated against U.S.-Israel military cooperation.

In June 2011, Brown wrote congratulatory remarks that were read at a CAIR event, but both he and CAIR have refused to release the text of what he said.  One of the speakers was Imam Johari Abdul-Malik, Director of Outreach of Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Washington, D.C., which just happens to be the mosque that was attended by two of the 9/11 bombers and also Fort Hood terrorist Nidal Hasan. The mosque has had connections to Hamas for years. But the most revealing fact in Brown’s dossier is this: from 2007 to 2012, the organization that gave Brown the most money was J Street, which gave him almost $60,000.
J Street (funded by George Soros and other progressives) has opposed sanctions against Iran, lobbied against U.S. vetoes of anti-Israel UNSC resolutions,  worked with groups promoting boycott, divestment, sanction campaign against Israel.  J-Street even tried to get congress to accept the  Goldstone Report (now discredited even by its author),  which accused Israel of committing atrocities during Operation Cast Lead (the Gaza War).

Let me get this straight. Sherrod Brown incumbent  Democratic candidate for Senator from Ohio who associates with anti-Israel groups, uses Nazi-like imagery against his Jewish/Israel supporting opponent as well as others with whom he disagrees. Now, the SuperPAC trying to get Mr. Brown elected was created by the guy who runs Media Matters an organization with a long history of Antisemitism. This SuperPAC supporting Mr. Brown can't oppose Josh Mandel on the issues, so its anti-Semitic boss has them infer that the Jewish Candidate Josh Mandel is an anti-Semite.

The more I look into this race the more I wonder, "Am I on Candid Camera?" Let's face it the only thing missing from this scenario is George Soros.
Soros, founder of Soros Fund Management LLC, will give $1 million to American Bridge 21st Century and $1 million to America Votes, spokesman Michael Vachon said in a letter to “friends and colleagues.”
That's just what the Brown-supporting American Bridge 21st Century Super PAC needed to fill its resume of hate, a contribution from the world's riches Jew-Hating, Israel-Hating Jew-George Soros.

Folks, Josh Mandel  is being wrongly slandered by a candidate so cynical that he employs anti-Semites to scream Antisemitism. Sherrod Brown should be ashamed of himself. Heck, the entire state of Ohio should be ashamed of themselves if they do not elect Josh Mandel their next Senator.
