NRA Says Biden Didn't Want to Be Confused With Facts

It's hard to understand what they expected from the meeting, but the NRA’s James Jay Baker met with the SCHMOTUS Joe Biden and he was NOT happy with the conversation.  Soon after the meeting they released this statement:
We were disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment. While claiming that no policy proposals would be "prejudged," this Task Force spent most of its time on proposed restrictions on lawful firearms owners — honest, taxpaying, hardworking Americans. It is unfortunate that this Administration continues to insist on pushing failed solutions to our nation's most pressing problems. We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be blamed for the acts of criminals and madmen. Instead, we will now take our commitment and meaningful contributions to members of congress of both parties who are interested in having an honest conversation about what works — and what does not.
And that was the NICE reaction, according to Mr. Baker--- Biden did not want fact to get in the way of a good progressive policy.
Mr. Baker said that at Thursday’s meeting, he suggested the administration work on ways to push states to submit mental-health records into the background-check system, an emerging area of consensus in response to Newtown. Mr. Baker said he also raised questions about whether current gun laws were being sufficiently enforced, and talked about the need for increased security at schools. As a response to the Newtown shootings, the NRA has proposed that every school have armed security.

Mr. Baker argued that data had shown that the 10-year assault-weapons ban that expired in 2004 had been ineffective, and that the vice president responded that the administration’s support for the banning of assault weapons, large-capacity magazines and universal background checks was “not going to change.” Mr. Baker said he made clear that the NRA “would do everything in our power’’ to see that new gun-ownership restrictions don’t pass. “Our leaders do not believe that their legal choices of firearms should be dictated by a homicidal maniac in Connecticut,’’ he said.
Jay  Baker is 100% correct, however he is fighting an an administration who does not believe that their control of American's freedoms should be dictated by a Constitution ratified over 224 years ago
