Is Sheila Jackson Lee Too DUMB To Be in Congress?

 We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness-Declaration of Independence July 4, 1776

To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, "Well, there she goes again!" Sheila Jackson Lee, the woman who, every day tries to show that Barbara Boxer and Hank Johnson are only in the top five when it comes to idiots in Congress,  made herself look like an idiot on the floor of the House once again.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee took to the House floor Monday night and implied that the right to health care and education exists in the Constitution because it says so right there in The Declaration of Independence. If that sounds confusing it should as the Congresswoman mixed up (or has no knowledge of) this nation's founding documents.
“One might argue that education and health care fall into those provisions of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” she said.
Sorry Ms. Lee but the life, liberty pursuit of happiness "provision" as you described it is in the Declaration of Independence not in the constitution.  Perhaps they didn't teach you the difference in elementary school social studies, or perhaps that day you were pulled out of class for remedial shoes-tying class.
Ms. Jackson Lee added, “I think that what should be continuously emphasized is the president’s leadership on one single point: that although health care was not listed per se in the Constitution, it should be a constitutional right.”
That perhaps is Ms. Lee's first rational thought---the right to healthcare is not in the Constitution but (you believe) it should be. In other words Ms. Lee is admitting the Obamacare law she voted for three years ago is unconstitutional (I agree).  If the Democrat from Texas believes it should be a Constitutional right there is a process for amending the Constitution. Perhaps she was pulled out of that lesson for her remedial "getting dressed" class.

Jackson Lee  once  stood on the floor of the house  discussing how North and South Vietnam are living peacefully side by side, even though there hasn't been a North and South Vietnam since Gerald Ford was President. That was more proof that Jackson Lee might have received a lobotomy and no one noticed.

Then there was the time accused Newt Gingrich of using racial buzzwords when he accused President Obama of being the "food stamp president." It was hard to figure out what she meant until I realized that food stamps are used to purchase cereal and Count Chockula is a cereal brand, Lee must think Count Chockula is racist.

A reader named Joe wrote in to remind me that The Hill reported in 1997 that on a House Science Committee trip to the Mars Pathfinder Mission Control Center in Pasadena Jackson Lee had asked NASA officials whether the Mars Pathfinder photographed the U.S. flag that Neil Armstrong had planted on Mars.

Now on that one I tend to give Rep. Lee the benefit of the doubt after all they both begin with "M," (as in moron).

Most recently Rep. Lee decided the Boston Marathon Bombing was all due to the sequester.
I serve as well, Mr. Speaker, on the Homeland Security committee, and I think it is important to say and be honest that the seekester (sic) is devastating to America's Homeland Security. We are feeling the pain along with our colleagues of the tragedies that have occurred. The attempted Times Square bombing. The successful bombing in Boston. The speaker of the House needs to immediately appoint budget conferees to move us forward, to conference, and to get rid of the sequester [that] was not the fault of the American people.
Yes she called the sequester the  seekster.

See what I mean? Either Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee is part of some sick prank or the woman was part of some secret CIA experiment in Artificial Stupidity, nobody can be this stupid naturally..can they?

The answer to the question posed in the title of this article"Is Sheila Jackson Lee Too DUMB To Be in Congress?" is no. Sheila Jackson Lee is not too dumb to be in congress as long as the people in her district keep reelecting her. Which I imagine, says much about the voters in her district.

Wait...you forgot the best one of all. From her Wikipedia page:

"The Hill reported in 1997 that Jackson Lee had asked NASA officials whether the Mars Pathfinder photographed the U.S. flag that Neil Armstrong had planted on Mars. When this incident was reported, her chief of staff wrote a letter to the editor suggesting that she was targeted because she was black."

She apparently referred to herself a a "freed slave" on the floor of the House one time.

Since she's been in Congress since 1995, I have to wonder if the real dummies are her constituents.
