The man who spewed nastiness during his first term with over-the-top statements such as his comment about former Vice President Dick Cheney: “I have trouble listening to what he says sometimes because of the blood that drips from his teeth while he’s talking,” or Fox News "the enemy of America," about a female adviser to the Federal Reserve chairman “a K Street whore," or even his speculation that gasoline would only cost a dollar per gallon if former President George W. Bush had let Saudi Prince Abdullah "get to second base," hasn't come up with any new slanders.
That was until now.
Under the headline, "The Tea Party: More Popular Than The Klan" Grayson sent out a fund raising email which included this picture which uses a burning KKK cross as the "T" in tea party
And Text which includes divisive lines such as:
The "Beltway Bully" is back! Once again Alan Grayson is working hard to be an embarrassment to his congressional district, to the state of Florida and Congress.
Don't expect the mainstream media to report this, they are too busy calling the Tea Party names.
The NRCC has asked House Democratic leadership to get involved:
It shouldn't stop there. Last week at the end of the shutdown President Obama said this about political discourse, "we can't degenerate into hatred "But what does the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee have to say about Grayson's latest offensive insult? Do DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz and DCCC Chair Steve Israel think such hateful imagery is appropriate within their ranks? The NRCC is asking House Democrats to swiftly condemn him and return any money he has raised for them
Its time for the President to step up, lead, and admonish Grayson for degenerating into hatred.
UPDATE Grayson Doubles Down he tells Roll Call
“Tea Party members have circulated countless altered pictures depicting President Obama and the First Lady as monkeys. Tea Party members also called my fellow Member of Congress, civil rights hero John Lewis, a ‘n***ger,’ and Rep. Barney Frank a ‘faggot,’” Grayson wrote verbatim in a written statement. “One could go on and on, because there is overwhelming evidence that the Tea Party is the home of bigotry and discrimination in America today, just as the KKK was for an earlier generation. If the shoe fits, wear it.”Andrew Breitbart offered $100 grand to anyone who could prove the John Lewis charge, no one collected the money. Anyone who utters a bigoted word at any Tea Party event (and it's very rare) gets immediately thrown out. For Grayson to compare the Tea Party movement as racist is not only incendiary but totally false.
