Christie Needs To Have a Press Conference And Go Bat Shit Crazy, And It Needs To Be TODAY

Based on the revelation that Chris Christie's deputy chief of staff and two of his top executives at the Port Authority vindictively caused “traffic problems in Fort Lee” by shutting lanes to the George Washington Bridge and took pleasure at the resulting gridlock led the governor to release the following statement:
What I've seen today for the first time is unacceptable. I am outraged and deeply saddened to learn that not only was I misled by a member of my staff, but this completely inappropriate and unsanctioned conduct was made without my knowledge. One thing is clear: this type of behavior is unacceptable and I will not tolerate it because the people of New Jersey deserve better. This behavior is not representative of me or my Administration in any way, and people will be held responsible for their actions.”
A statement is nice---but it is not anywhere near enough. After spending almost a year bashing Obama for blocking the truth about the IRS being used for political reasons, America will not take well to Christie doing the same.

If Chris Christie wants to have a national political career he need to act an act now.  This flies against the political image he is trying to portray that he can unify the parties, and promotes the image that he is nothing but a big bully. It is also very politically stupid...the guy had a 40% lead when his staff did this.

If he knew nothing until yesterday as he said in the statement, Governor Christie needs to call a press conference today and go absolutely bat shit crazy.  This is when Christie has to be an angry.   He needs to take responsibility, volunteer to testify in-front of the investigation and demand that all of his staff make themselves available and fire everyone involved. If he really knew nothing, this is the time to be indignant, not at the press but at the act and the people who were involved. He also needs to explain why he didn't know.

When this broke yesterday, Christie cancelled all of his appointments and disappeared. Today he has to come out and he has to be pissed off. If Chris Christie didn't know about the actions of his staff he needs to do all of the above and do it now.  Should Christie handle this well it may even help him portray himself as different than the typical Washington politician. If Christie remains silent today, he is done.

I think the assumption here - that Christie might not have known - strains credulity past the breaking point. In New Jersey, where the Governor is known to have surrounded himself with fawning sycophants eager to do his bidding and political 'hit men' of the old style machine variety, it is hard to believe that the Governor didn't know what was being orchestrated - unless , that is, he didn't WANT to know. The guy's career aspirations are done either way. Which is good for America - though maybe bad for Moslems who might have looked forward to jihadists being appointed to the federal courts.

There is no implication...the article keeps saying "If"

If Gov. Chris Christie's office did this to punish Fort Lee, NJ, could Gov. Christie's office also have conversely rewarded other New Jersey communities?

First in your class WOW! Do I get down on one knee or two before I sacrifice the goat in your name?

On one knee will suffice. But since you do not know how to parse text with lexical precision, you really ought to, as well, buy out of the business of claiming I said what I didn't say.

Will do as soon as you get off your top of the class, High Horse.
