What Mike Huckabee DIDN'T Say

Allow me to begin by saying that I have never been a big supporter of Mike Huckabee politically although I have enjoyed his TV show from time to time. For almost 24 hours now, the mainstream media has been aghast at what Huckabee said at the RNC winter meetings yesterday. This is what Huckabee actually said:
And if the Democrats want to insult the women of America by making them believe that they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing for them a prescription each month for birth control because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of the government, then so be it, let us take that discussion all across America, because women are far more than the Democrats have played them to be, and women across America need to stand up and say enough of that nonsense.
Note #1: Uncle Sugar is a slang term for Uncle Sam (yes I had to look it up)

He did not say women can't control their libido." He also did not say, "Democrats say  women can't control their libido." He didn't even say that government should make contraception illegal.

Huckabee did say Democrats contend that woman are helpless unless big government is there to help them control their libido OR their reproduction system. He did say that government shouldn't pay for contraception.

While there was nothing technically wrong with Huckabee's words he did not choose wisely. If one's words have to be explained, or can be used as fodder for the anti-GOP mainstream media then they were a mistake.

Note #2: The RNC winter meetings are not like the baseball winter meetings. Therefore you do not have to sit by your computer hoping for an announcement that Reince Priebus traded John McCain to the Democratic Party for a power hitter or a great fielding shortstop.
