Newsbusted: Obama Didn't Go To Olympics Because He Hates To Visit Countries That Abandoned Communism

There have been many reasons given for the fact that President Obama did not attend the Winter Olympics in Russia. Some say its a protest against Vladimir Putin's support of the Syrian regime, other say its because of Russia's state sanctioned homophobia .  According to Newsbusted Anchor Jodie Miller the real reason Obama stayed home is that for some strange reason he hates going to countries that abandoned Communism.

Other news items covered in the latest installment of Newsbusted the weekly faux news feature from Newsbusters.org (embedded below) include;James Carville joins Fox News; Rosie O'Donnell's son joins the military; Colin Powell and the GOP; and much, much, more.

Please make sure you watch the video below because something bad always happens to the people who don't. Last week the governor of Georgia forgot to press play and now it looks like they are going to be hit by another snow storm.  So if you don't want more bad weather you better press play.

I'm going to disagree with you on McConnell. Independent of your opinion about Bevins, McConnell let Obamacare go to cloture, and Reid did the rest. It's that very attitude, letting incumbent Republicans keep their seat, all the while enabling the Democrats to achieve their liberal agenda. McConnell (and the others with him, McCain, Graham, etc) are essentially useless to the our side, frankly, with them in it would make no difference if a Democrat had the seat.

and what was his alternative? He went along with the Shutdown and ran out of options, there was no was to win because the GOP didn't control the senate...all the groups that rate senators, rate mcconnell as a conservative.

He could have filibustered, giving more time to reveal what was in Obamacare. Reid passed a corrupt bill in the dead of night, Christmas Eve, I sure don't remember hearing McConnell and his entrenched GOP Senators sounding the alarm. They've let Reid get everything, the damage is already done.

Yeah, let's base judgement on conservative Bevin on what uber-leftist lying propaganda site POLITICO says!!!!!

His campaign admitted it

Ok, I get what you mean, the Dems with the help of the 2 Independents got the 60 votes for cloture, and after that it was only a matter of needing 50 votes for final passage.

Bevins wasn't in the Senate when Tarp and the Stimulus passed, so it really doesn't matter what his opinion on it was, he didn't vote, others did. And many have had ambivalent feelings ever since. I just think that McConnell hasn't had the leadership strength he needed to have and now it's too late.

Here is what I think.....We are not going to be right on all Conservative Candidates in the coming election, but what we are putting up are better than what is in there now! We can't trust the people in there now! So we may have one or two duds.....It happened with Senator Ayotte, Sen Susan Collins, Sen Flake of Arizona, all ran as Conservatives and turned out to be closer to the Progressive Socialists! We need to get rid of Boehner, McConnell, Lindsay Graham, and all the other RINOs who have been there too long. We will make mistakes on some of these guys, but there are plenty of others who love America and our Constitution!

Obama did not go as he does not respect anyone who may get a gold medal when he does not. its all about him - he hates the American people, He hates so many. He hates the constitution> He hates good health care.
He hates it when you call him on his idiotic statements.
He hates it if the Olympics were not awarded to him.
Its all about him.
Its now for him to go.

Valerie Jarrett is an idiot.

Mr. Bevin needs to emphasize the facts about Mitch not voting for the ACA, but sabotaged efforts by conservatives to defund the ACA by voting with the DemocRats to fund this nightmare!! McConnell is a slick forked tongue! Wants our money and votes and only asks that we bend over on command! Come on Mitch, go ahead and run as a DemocRat! More research to be done on Bevin!

Unknown said...

It's OK in your eyes to go "belly up" if you don't control things, HUH? just capitulate and let the opposition do it's darnedest! Elections have consequences, was the lamest thing Mitch ever said! Voting to fund the ACA was the ultimate betrayal, and surrender of conservative values! Bevins had no iron in that fire, just Mitch! That alone should be reason enough to retire him from public life in November!

I do hope people realize that a vote for Matt Bevin is not a mistake.

AS it relates to this article -- When the CEO writes that he "reviewed both reports and that they
were accurate," he is commenting as to the accuracy of the NUMBERS in the reports. This was required by the SEC after the multiple frauds -- Enron being the most famous -- in the late 90's and early 2000's. The executives of those companies would claim they had no idea that the numbers were fraudulent, and that accountants "did all that." The Securities and Exchange Commission, via Sarbanes-Oxley, began requiring that CEO's sign off on the "accuracy" of the financial statements and that they take personal responsibility for the accuracy of the NUMBERS being provided to investors. That statement of accuracy is not intended to be the CEO's personal endorsement of every comment and element of puffery in the entire booklet that makes upt he financial statements of the company. Things like statements claiming that the corporation is doing its part to end global warming or similar commentaries about social or political happenings would be good examples of things that the CEO isn't certifying as accurate.

Admitted what exactly? And please, do be exact.

Specifically, the filibuster had at its core the requriment that any proposed amendment (i.e., an amendment to add Obamacare funding back to the bill that the House had passed) would have to have 60 votes to be passed. McConnell's and his clash of rinos once again sided with the democrats to end the filibuster, so that the dems could then amend the bill with only 51 votes. In a very literal way, if McConnell had not sided with the dems at this specific point in time, the most damaging components of Obamacare would have been stopped in its tracks -- all those policy cancellations wouldn't have happened, and the federal and state websites would have been shut down.

As for McConnell's constant harping on the "one half of one third of government" line, when the dems only had one-half of one-third of government, they did a bang-up job of getting at least some of what they wanted. McConnell and his clash of lame rinos never win even small things for the conservative cause, and most often give Chairman Obama everything he wants.

Jeff, you just don't understand. That's not meant as an insult. Most people don't understand. That's what McConnell is taking advantage of with this issue. We are talking about financial statements that are being filed with the Securities and Exchange commission here. Bevin was attesting to the accuracy of the NUMBERS, not the opinions offered on the politics of the day. And do know, that if a firm's investors happen to hold funds that are directly invested in companies that got the bailouts, that was a "positive" for those investors -- even if the bailout itself was a bad idea in the big picture of life. These types of financial statements/prospectuses are written for the investors, telling them what was going on with their funds, specifically, and the expected impact of happenings in the world upon those funds. The financial statements (of any company) are not intended to be a statement of the personal political philosphies of the manaagement or board of that company. I've written more on this topic up a few comments; I encourage you scroll up and read it.
