Ted Cruz Rocks CPAC

Ted Cruz batted lead off for CPAC Thursday morning and he did a great job of rousing the crowd.  Actually he "rocked the joint." Not that he needed to prove anything because after the leading the charge against Obamacare this fall, the CPAC attendees were "his" crowd.

'By virtue of your being here today,' he jokingly began "tomorrow each and every one of you is going to be audited by the IRS." He continued, "We need to abolish the IRS." And said instead of the IRS we should have  a flat income tax rate and a user-friendly tax return that can be filed on a postcard.

Alluding to the NSA scandal Cruz asked everyone in the audience with a cell phone to 'please leave them on. I want to make sure President Obama hears everything I have to say.'

Cruz message was a guide of how conservatives can win. He said, "Liberty is under assuage...We can stand for principles." He stressed the need win young people "because that's how we win elections."

"Change, real change is changing the corrupt and broken system that is here in Washington, D.C.. How do we inspire young people? We tell the truth."

Almost as if he were testing his future stump-speech Texas Senator gave a ten point plan for the future.

"Number one, defend the constitution...Number two, we need to abolish the IRS...Number three, we need to expand energy in this country...Number four, we need to expand school choice...Number five, we need to repeal Dodd-Frank...Number six, we need to audit the federal reserve...Number seven, pass a strong balanced budget amendment...Number eight, we need to repeal every single word of ObamaCare...Number nine, we need to stop the lawlessness...Number ten, we need to end the corruption."

He also took a direct shot at the Presidents abuse of executive orders:

'If you have a president who is picking and choosing which laws to follow and which laws to ignore, you no longer have a president,' said Cruz.

And he finished with a rousing:

"Millions have lost hope because under president Obama, the American dream is harder and harder to achieve. ... If you were to sit down and design a plan to hammer the living daylights out of young people, you couldn't do better than the Obama economic plan."

Cruz left little doubt, he will be running for President, and today he delivered the stump speech people in Iowa will hear over and over from now till the first caucus at the end of next year.
