Vidant Health braces for some big cuts over the next year, and blames the "affordable care act." Vidant reports Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements are not what they hoped. They say the operational margin is less than half of what they planned for in 2014. Projects at risk include a new cancer center and upgrades to the core infrastructure at the system's hospitals. Vidant leaders say they're looking at streamlining processes.

North Carolina Healthcare System Cuts Back Because Of Obamacare
It was a short news item on the WNCT-TV Greenville, NC evening news, but one that could be devastating for the sick people in the market as Vidant Heathcare announced that because of Obamacare, they would be cutting back on services. This latest of the many unintended consequences of Obamacare is that people who go to Vidant Health facilities will be deprived of the latest and most quality healthcare. WNCT reported:
