Jonathan Karl: Obama's ISIS Speech Tomorrow To Be About Defending Obama

According to Jonathan Karl of ABC News, President Obama's speech tomorrow will not focus on how he plans to defeat ISIS but to defend against his bad poll numbers. "The single-biggest factor in that, [his low poll nun is that a majority say the President has been too cautious in responding to this threat. That's why he's giving the speech. He's not going to order air strikes on Syria yet. He is going to make the case that he has a strong approach, a strategy for taking on this group."

In other words, the people be damned, I'm going to talk about myself

Stephanopoulos: Going to turn to President Obama, preparing to address the nation on his strategy to take on ISIS. Congressional leaders coming to the White House this afternoon as a new ABC News/"Washington Post" poll out this morning shows seven out of ten Americans favor air strikes against the extremist group in Iraq. ABC’s Jon Karl is at the White House with more on what to expect from the President tomorrow. Good morning, Jon

Karl: Good morning, George. Even more significant in that new poll, is that an equally large number of Americans in this poll support expanding those air strikes Syria. This is a dramatic change of public opinion. Just a couple of months ago, there was deep reluctance to get involved in any way in the Middle East. Now, you see wide concern about the threat posed by a group that's been beheading Americans, taking over large territory, large amounts of territory in Iraq and Syria. In this poll, 91%---91% said that they see ISIS As posing a vital threat to U.S. Interests.

Stephanopoulos: But the President is not prepared to announce tomorrow night that he is ready to strike Syria with air strikes. And it comes with a time he is facing some real popularity problems. We see 56% of the country disapproving of how the President is handling foreign policy.

Karl: Right and the single-biggest factor in that, is that a majority say the President has been too cautious in responding to this threat. That's why he's giving the speech. He's not going to order air strikes on Syria yet. He is going to make the case that he has a strong approach, a strategy for taking on this group.”

The MSM failed in their primary mission to keep this kind of bad news from the public. There will be he!! to pay.

it's about obama's appearance 24/7. the man is an utter unqualified narcissist...if he was removed yesterday it wouldn't be soon enough.

Suddenly he has a strategy? I guess that trying to hold onto as many Senate and House seats as possible in the upcoming elections is a strategy of sorts. Not the type of strategy that will defeat an enemy, or ensure domestic security, but a strategy nonetheless.
Thank you Obamabots.

His problem is he behaves like an animal her problem is she submits to it. His punishment should be jail time. Her submission to this kind of treatment is not punishable by law but makes for a miserable brutalized life.

For once it would be great if he didn't speak with a teleprompter. One can always dream ...

This speech may be the moment in which in wheels finally come off the Obama administration. A self reference count will tell the tale.

How high is your tolerance for "uhhhh," "ummm," "ahhhh," "wellllll"?

Great information. Thanks for your enlightening article. The power and money available at international levels is so corrupting. The common man is a toy to these people.

Another Obama speech. Get your "I" meters out, he may be poised to break his own record!

Unfortunately, unlike Clinton, Obama won't be swayed by polling. He believes in nothing so much as his own infallibility. He truly believes he is the world's greatest genius and if people disagree with him it is only because they are jealous and ignorant.

Obama will explain to us, as patiently as his next tee time permits, that despite tens of thousands murdered in cold blood and hundreds of thousands displaced, despite ISIS gaining control over huge swaths of oil fields, the biggest dam in Iraq, and a bank which reportedly held $2 billion in gold reserves, his modest, incrementally minimalist approach is best. Because that's what he decided on. Doh!

Play the drinking game of a shot every time he says I, my, me or the royal we. You will be passed out long before the speech is over.

Jeff Dunetz said...

He has yet to realize the failure he has become. Every move he makes, seem to be against the countrys interests.

Jeff Dunetz said...

Being passed out would be a blessing. Better would be passed out before the speech begin.

Without TOTUS, Obama would be mute. That, of course, would be an improvement over him speaking.

TOTUS - love it!

Excellent piece...nice to see Qatar and the TRAITOR class called out...

See a setup coming for our military? Believe Extortion 17 (aptly names craft) type set up is in the offing...I don't think Obama is an idiot or an ideologue but rather a traitor. Does he work for the Muslim Brotherhood or Mother Russia or both?
