Is America ready for another President Bush? According to a September Wall Street Journal
report Jeb Bush's closest advisers are telling GOP strategists and fundraisers not to commit to other possible presidential candidates before he decides whether he will run, which should be soon after the November midterms. As we get closer to the midterms it becomes more apparent that he indeed will announce for president by the end of the year. Especially now that the biggest obstacle has been removed.
The big obstacle preventing a Bush run are the objections from his family. Earlier this year, Bush's mother, Barbara Bush, famously said that while she believed her son was the "best qualified" person to run for president in 2016, "I hope he won't."
The real objection comes from the Governor's wife, Columba. She was not a fan of the spotlight when he was Florida's governor and the scuttlebutt has been that she didn't want to return to the spotlight now.
However Bush said in an interview with the Associated Press that his famously press-shy wife, Columba, is "supportive" of the fact that he is considering running for president in 2016.
My wife is supportive, but that doesn't mean that I don't understand the challenges that this brings. This is ultimately my decision with as much consideration as I can to take into account the people that I really love.Should Bush announce he will immediately become the favorite of "the establishment" wing of the GOP and eliminate any possibility of a Romney run. However his stances on issues such as illegal immigration and and education will serve to alienate the conservative wing.
Look for Bush to run...but it's not gonna be pretty.
