Two CNBC Alums Say Network Mgmt. Stopped Them From Telling Truth About Obamacare & Obamanomics

During her Friday program on the "Fox Business Network," Melissa Francis made a truly scandalous revelation. "when I was at CNBC, I pointed out to my viewers that the math of Obamacare simply didn't work. Not the politics by the way; just the basic math. And when I did that, I was silenced." Francis eventually brought on Charlie Gasparino another FBN employee who used to work at CNBC who told of the time the network's anchors where called into Jeff Immelt the head of GE's office (GE owned CNBC at the time) for a discussion whether or not the network was being fair to President Obama and his economic policies.

Francis began her program with two of the recent Jonathan Gruber videos where he talks about in crafting Obamacare, he picked verbiage that would fool the stupid Americans. Francis who has a degree in economics from Harvard, followed the clip with her account of being taken out to the woodshed at CNBC explaining that the basic math of Obamacare didn't make sense"
Straight from the horse's mouth, Jonathan Gruber telling you that the architects of Obamacare think you're stupid and most importantly, they are absolutely counting on your lack of economic understanding. They aren't the only villains in this story though. They are also depending on the liberal media to help them cover up the truth. So far NBC, ABC, The L.A. Times" and Associated Press and others, have been only too happy to comply. Those outlets have not even mentioned the video evidence, from Jonathan Gruber. It is shocking.

But it actually doesn't surprise me. Because when I was at CNBC, I pointed out to my viewers that the math of Obamacare simply didn't work. Not the politics by the way; just the basic math. And when I did that, I was silenced.

I said on the air, that you couldn't add millions of people to the system and force insurance companies to cover their preexisting conditions without raising the price on everyone else. I pointed out that it couldn't possibly be true that if you like your plan you can keep it. That was a lie. And in fact millions of people had their insurance canceled.
Ms Francis brought in Howard Kurtz who said he wasn't surprised by bias just that it was so blatant.

Finally the host brought in another FBN reporter Charlie Gasparino, who was also a CNBC alumnus, Gasparino told two media bias horror stories:
I quite frankly am surprised. I---listen I’m not surprised by liberal bias. I worked in the mainstream media throughout my career. I'm right of center. I never held back my feelings about, I’m a devote’ of the free markets, never held back on that. I seen the way it works, usually as Howard says, a lot more subtle. I will say this though; I know Mark Hoffman runs CNBC. I actually think he is a decent guy. I know Nick Yogan who runs the news, runs news operations, decent guy.

But I will say this, and here is one of chilling aspects working in the mainstream media. Two points. When I was at "Newsweek" when it looked like the exit polls were in and George W. Bush was going to lose to John Kerry, people were doing high fives in the newsroom. I’ll tell you that, that’s one.
The second thing is, there was a thing, at CNBC, right after the elections when President Obama first took office, the markets were getting crushed. The markets were scared about Obamanomics and his ability to lead. Tim Geithner didn't lend a lot of courage and confidence in the markets. And we as a network started talking about that. No sooner did we talk about that, than Jeff Immelt the head of GE, which owned CNBC at time called a meeting of senior people, including mostly anchors. Didn't call me, thank God. And they basically had a talk, a discussion about whether CNBC was being fair to the president. We should point out that GE got a lot of largess, received a lot of largess from the Obama administration over the years. Now did they tell you during this, did they tell the people during this meeting, go easy on Obama? No. But you know there is a chilling effect when your boss calls you in, says, not just your boss, the head of GE, everybody is sitting around and you're saying, oh, are we being fair to the president by pointing out that his economic theories make no sense or whatever we were doing? And you know that is the mainstream media. You know people attack Fox all the time and we give the other side all the time?

Let's see; right-wingers Francis, Gasparino and Kurtz were silenced about the ACA on CNB-friggin-C? And we're supposed to believe this bull-crap? God you must think WE are stupid. STFU

Unknown said...

If you believe what you wrote, then you are indeed stupid. You need STFU.

"Progressive" (so-called) = fascist

Who can be surprised by the information in this article about lib/lefty so-called journalists being shut up by Immelt, who was in Obama´s pocket from the beginning for the reasons that Gasparino says. It is very clear, without spending millions of dollars on research, as the libs/lefties love to do, that today´s so-called journalists are nothing but two dollar whores, and live to carry water for Obama and his lackeys. But we will win--it is not easy and the victory won´t come soon, but we will win, because the lib/lefty nonsense is built on deception, with Gruber being the most immediate, and flagrant, example of the hypocrisy, deception, distortion, "tortured language," nonsense, BS. As Francis says, ideology aside, the basic math of the libs/lefties/Democrats doesn´t make sense. IT IS THAT SIMPLE.

Unknown said...

Do yourself a favor and STFU. As long as you don't express your opinion, you won't confirm the fact that you're the stupid one.

Unknown said...

Obama and his pal Jonathan Gruber definitely think you're stupid. And if you swallowed their leftist bull-crap about Obamacare, they were absolutely right.

KarenSez <- Gruber Theory at work

Unknown said...

Simonsez up there must have won the Obama lackey contest during the 2008 genuflection in front of Styrofoam columns representing the Obama altar.

She still hasn't figured out Gruber was speaking about rubes like her. Helpless and Clueless - six years later, still believing in the profundity of...

Yes We Can!!!!

Unknown said...

Wow, the disconnect is strong with this one.

Unknown said...

Watch the Gruber videos you fool.

Unknown said...

"Three blind mice, three blind mice...".

Unknown said...

Watching NBC "News" is a lot like reading Pravda in the old USSR...you know what's important by what they don't cover.

Unknown said...

Can this mind be saved? Doubtful.

Karen, there are now 6 videos where Gruber calls the American people stupid. In none of those six were they closed door meetings and MSM types were in attendance. Yet up till now, 3-4 years on, the MSM suppressed the presence of these utterances from Gruber. That Karen is suppression on a scale that old Soviet Pravda would be proud of.

No Karen, your mind is not open to being saved. Go stand in a corner with Mr. Gruber and repeat your leftist mantra to yourselves.

Actually they should be called Regressives....

TO: All

RE: Melissa Francis and Her Ilk

So they think their jobs are more important than the nation, let alone the Truth.

Typical of these sorts. They have no integrity, let alone honor.

All this trouble as well as what is to come upon US is the result of her cowardice.

Regards,

Chuck(le)

Actually what's supposed to happen is for CNN and other 3rd party outlets to go out to these people and get details, get names, seek comment on these explosive allegations, and generally do their job covering the story because, true or not, it's news. This should happen sometime within the next news cycle and generate new stories within 24-48 hours on the faster outlets and within the week for the newsweeklies.

You can legitimately take all sorts of angles on the story and that's ok. What's not legitimate is what is most likely to happen, that the story is covered on the right and unless it builds up to something viral that is plain dangerous (for their continued financial viability) for the MSM outlets to ignore, it just peters out.

So, did it happen the way these people say it did? Was there a chilling effect applied to press coverage in the early Obama administration over at CNBC and perhaps other outlets that were not perceived as in the pocket of the left? The people have a right to know. But if nobody working at one of the news sources you go to asks, this is an invisible story for you.

Unknown said...

Yes, I do think you're stupid.

Unknown said...

The MSM was informed about Gruber and they chose to do nothing. They still know about Gruber and choose to do nothing. Right now, the people who watch Fox News probably know more about Gruber than they'd care to know, but they know. People who watch the MSM say, "Jonathan Who?" Now, those same people meet someone who watches Fox News and they can't believe what they're saying, but it's so bad they can't imagine them lying about it, so they do a little internet search. That is when things start to change and the limited amount of credibility the MSM has is down the tubes.

Let's not forget, the Democrats lost big this election cycle in spite of the fact that the MSM refuses to report on the Obama scandals, the numerous House bills sitting on Reid's desk, and other major problems the Democrats have. If I were the MSM, I'd be wondering how that happened. By the way, the 2/3 of the voters who didn't show up, didn't support Obama's policies either, how did they figure that out?

Take your own advice

Unknown said...

Progressive=Communist.. With "Bomber Bill" Ayers in one corner and Frank Marshal in the other how can it be fascist? Actually there is no difference between the two except that the Communists murdered more of their own citizens and made the Nazi look like pikers.

Here'a a link to Gruber's $297,600 federal contract for "Technical Assistance in Evaluating Options for National Healthcare Reform." The take away civics lesson? Lying really pays well. Just ask Obama...

Liberal Privilege gives useful idiots like you a sense of entitlement and intellectual and moral superiority. It also makes you think you can tell the rest of us what is and isn't acceptable to say, think and believe.

Unknown said...

So these were not the stupid people Gruber was counting on.
Obviously their bosses and colleagues were. Stupid, stupid, stupid, or in agreement that we are too stupid to govern themselves and must be lied to and ruled by "elites."

Unknown said...

No, it's actually Gruber who thinks you're stupid. Watch his videos for clarification. This is the one thing that Gruber and I agree on, by the way.

Unknown said...

Great informative video.

Unknown said...

Even Nancy Pelosi is pretending she doesn't know who Gruber is. Unfortunately for her, a videotape sufaced showing Pelosi lauding his accomplishments several years ago .

Unknown said...

When you are deliberately keeping important information from your viewers/readers, it is not mere "bias." It is fraud. It is conscious propagandizing. It is deliberate manipulation of the public. These people are enemies of democracy, and no one can say any longer that that statement is hyperbole. These people are setting out to mislead the public for their own purposes. They know it. Maybe more "stupid" American voters are finally starting to know it. I hope so.

Unknown said...

I am betting KarenSez has a COEXIST bumper sticker on her car. Because they are all leftist fascists.

Unknown said...

But at the end of the day, GRUBER WAS RIGHT!!! Americans are stupid people.

How can you explain the American people overwhelmingly voted for Obama, TWICE!!! I mean you maybe an idiot voting for Obama the first time. But voting for Obama knowing the economic hell is just pure and plain stupid.

The idiot Americans deserve to be lied and deceived because they are just too damn stupid to know better.

Unknown said...

I'm only surprised these dudes are talking about it. Not that it happened, or that the MSM is silent about how they fracked over the middle class of america.

Unknown said...

NBC is GE's b*tch.

Unknown said...

Kurtz is a right winger? LOL!

Unknown said...

If ABC or CBS had a shred of competitive juice left, they would seize on this and report on these meetings with Immelt, which any honorable journalist would have protested or resigned over.

Unknown said...

Forty years ago I was a journalism major. I left after a fight with my advisor over using loaded words in headlines. This was during advent of Watergate and the idea of being an investigative reporter taking down the government was on everyone's mind. My advisor edited my stories to include wording that was not only incendiery, but which altered the content of the story. When I left his office he told me "you'll be expected to write what you're told when you work in a real newsroom." To which I replied "I don't plan on checking my free speech rights at the door." I left the school, changed majors, but still keep up. Those who stayed on are the editors and activist publishers of today's biased news. I know their game. I don't believe them.

Unknown said...

Tacit approval.

Unknown said...

Karen = Valerie

Unknown said...

It does make sense...to them. You see, they dont care about free markets. To them, free markets bare only evil. So their (moronic) solution is to make every financial issue political, thereby allowing them to fool those who dont understand complex (sometimes even simple) economics.
In the end the goal is to control all aspect of revenue in this country. That way they have complete control.

Unknown said...

And the further away we get from the collapse of the USSR, the closer the MSM and Democrats get to re-creating it.
Funny how Democrats in the school system are dedicated to rewriting our recent past, making it look like "communism wasnt all that bad!"

Unknown said...

half of them are stupid, but the other half are driven by pure hatred of conservatives. The MSM, Hollywood, TV and the music industry have done everything they could to keep the masses stupid while blaming all of our problems on Republicans, while completely ignoring all the negative Democrats have done.

Unknown said...

More are, but there are plenty more who are not even paying attention to this scandal either.

Unknown said...

Americans are stupid ...but only the 52% that voted for Obama. Republicans KNEW that the lies sold as 'ObamaCare' would not work. So Gruber was basically calling the core Democrat voters "STUPID" - and he was absolutely correct.

Unknown said...

Melissa Francis and Charlie Gasparino are liars.

They were NOT 'silenced'.

They were Co-Conspirators.

And now they're trying to hide their tracks since Gruber blew their cover with his arrogance. If this had never blown up, they would have remained silent about the lies they perpetrated on the American People.

Note that they're not really telling us anything we didn't already know; GE and its media operations are a leftist propaganda organization, Jeff Immelt is a true believer and scion of the left, and journalists that work for these organizations like NBC lie, obfuscate, and blackout news.

And now Fox and FBN have these liars and propagandists working for them.

I've been watching less and less since I've seen Fox get rid of Cal Thomas and James Pinkerton, and replace them with HOWARD KURTZ. The 'FoxNews Watch' segment who's entire purpose was to keep an eye on liberal media lies, has been replaced by Kurtz's Mediabuzz which recently told Dana Milbank that liberal bias is a result of right-wing Paranoia.

This on Fox, and Mediabuzz, ladies and gentlemen. which is supposed to be a 'watchdog' on the news. Apparently, Kurtz must have known that this damaged his credibility (and ratings) and has since deleted the video from his Fox site, much as the University tried to destroy evidence of Gruber. I guess liberal tendencies die hard.

The problem is that this is going on at Fox.

Personally, Fox News and FBN are becoming more and more corrupt.

Damaged goods.

If I want to watch liberal tripe, I'll watch CNN and MSNBC or not watch at all.

What I don't need is liberal commentators pretending to be "centrist", let alone "conservative" like Howard Kurtz.

I still watch Hannity, Kelly, and Special report (loveSteve Hayes and the Online 30m segemnts), but I have a feeling Fox is going the way of the "Centrist" which is just code for "Left".

Kurtz, Francis, Hasselbeck, and the rest are a symptom of a deep sickness.

Pity.

Unknown said...

Not that it matters, but I disagree: The math doesn´t make sense to them, BUT THEY DON´T CARE. They are putting into action the Cloward/Pivens recipe, create so much bureaucracy that the resulting disaster can only be handled by an autocrat.

Actually, now that i reread your post, what I just said sounds enough like "...make every financial issue political..." that it is not worth arguing. Oh, and also your "That way they have complete control..." Yes, you and I understand the situation and each other.

Unknown said...

A list of Obama Administration largesse toward GE afterwards would be revealing.

Unknown said...

Naw, he's a liberal; that's why Fox hired him You dope...

Unknown said...

I watched Charlie Gasparino either ignore or talk over a TEA Party conservative when both were being interviewed by Neil Cavuto. He wouldn't even LOOK at her. He's a Northeast Rockefeller Repubican, not right of center!

Unknown said...

You called him a right winger.
