VAMPIRE BATS Added To The Official “Stupid Things Used To Fear Monger About Global Warming” List

Once again, its time to add to the Official “Stupid Things Used To Fear Monger About Global Warming” List.  The new entry is Vampire Bats, not the political kind but the tiny flying mammal kind.

Since July 2009 global warming moonbats have blamed each of  the following on global warming, climate change or whatever they decided to call it these days:

Incredible shrinking sheep, Invasion of jellyfish in the Mediterranean, Surge in fatal shark attack, Boy Scout tornado deaths, Global conflict, Beer tasting different, Suicide of farmers in Australia, Bigger tuna fish, longer days, shorter days, Collapse of gingerbread houses in Sweden, Cow infertility, UFO sightings in the UK, Rise in insurance premiums, Heroin addiction, Frigid Cold Winters in Great Britain, Cancer, Death from heart disease, diabetes, stroke, respiratory disease and even accidents, homicide, suicide, water -borne disease outbreaks, heavier, wetter snowstorms treacherous for travel and ambulation, Lyme disease, swarms of allergy-inducing, stinging insects, along with mosquitoes and devastating pine bark beetle infestations and the spread of forest and crop pests, 40,000 dead crabs , unrest in the Middle East. screwed-up love making, the Japanese earthquake-tsunami, horrible rash of tornadoes in southeast United States,The Arab Spring, extended severe allergy seasons, Lyme disease, malaria or dengue fever, trauma, depression, high blood pressure and heart disease, and increased threat of wars, violence and military action against the UK.

Now, according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), global warming has caused a migration of possibly rabid Vampire bats from Mexico.

Late last week the CDC confirmed that a 19 year-old migrant worker was hospitalized in Louisiana with rabies last summer.  Apparently the guy developed acute neurologic symptoms at the end of July, shortly after arriving in the United States from  Mexico.  The man died on August 21, sadly too early to have enjoyed the fruits of Obamacare. Testing confirmed the diagnosis of rabies, and samples collected at autopsy were positive for the  vampire bat rabies virus.

Further investigation uncovered that  according to his mom, the victim  had been bitten by a bat in July in Mexico but had not sought medical care.

According to the CDC,  although bats have become the primary source of human rabies in the United States, this was the first reported death from  vampire bat rabies in the country (his mom must have been so proud).

Now one with think that where the story would end, after all the poor victim was in Mexico when he was bitten by the Dracula wanna-be. Not so fast says the CDC, like anything else there is a footnote.

This particular footnote, is mostly medical gobbly-goop about rabies what animals have transferred rabies in the US and near the very end of the note was this passage:
Although vampire bats currently are found only in Latin America, research suggests that the range of these bats might be expanding as a result of changes in climate. Expansion of vampire bats into the United States likely would lead to increased bat exposures to both humans and animals (including domestic livestock and wildlife species) and substantially alter rabies virus dynamics and ecology in the southern United States. In addition to rabies and other lyssaviruses, accumulating evidence implicates bats as reservoirs and potential vectors of a number of emerging infectious diseases . These discoveries raise further questions about the health risks to human populations with direct or indirect contact with bats, particularly given the high disease severity and fatality rates associated with these zoonoses. Further research should be directed toward better defining the nature and magnitude of the risks to human health posed by bats.
Holy Crap!  Dracula creeping toward the 48 state and all because Americans are exhaling CO2 and driving gas guzzlers. Its no wonder that all of those Twilight-type Vampire movies are popular, those monsters are using their telepathic powers to make us comfortable for their arrival.  All Gore was right! We're all going to die. Unless of course this is just a little more global warming fear mongering.

good excuse to blame "climate change" on diseased illegal immigrants
